Friendship Ideal Campus, located in Washington, District of Columbia, is a school that follows the Reggio Emilia philosophy for students in grades pre-K3 to kindergarten. This approach believes that children are capable of extraordinary things and that the world is their classroom. Through art, nature, literature, dramatic play, language, writing, and music, students are encouraged to explore their innate curiosity, intellect, creativity, and self-confidence.

Led by experienced teachers, Friendship Ideal continues this philosophy in elementary and middle grades, aiming to develop knowledgeable, caring, resilient, and ethical young scholars. The rigorous academic curriculum focuses on mathematics, science, social studies, English, language arts, and foreign language study. Project-based learning is a key component, taking students out of the classroom to investigate real-world problems.

The campus is designed to spark creativity and foster student inquiry, with colorful classrooms and a garden for outdoor learning. In 2021, the campus expansion will include new classrooms, a performing arts theater, gymnasium, innovation lab, and digital library.

Principal John Snowdy has a successful background in education, having served as a teacher, school counselor, assistant principal, and school principal. Prior to leading Friendship Ideal, he achieved significant academic growth at Friendship Southeast Middle School and Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys. Snowdy is passionate about education and believes he has the best job in the world. He received his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and his master's degree from Johns Hopkins University.
