"I'm looking for a place to take my pregnancy checkup. I don't know where to go. They told me there are free places. Please help."

"I found a doula very early in pregnancy and this was one of my better decisions. After contacting a few, I signed on with Asha Birth Services because Tamoyia was responsive, attentive, and down to Earth. While my partner did not agree with the introduction of a doula, he was soon on board after meeting Tamoyia and she patiently addressed every single one of his questions and concerns. I was impressed. While I thankfully did not need much during pregnancy, Tamoyia faithfully checked in to be sure I was doing well. She provided resources and samples of things I did not even realize I needed until after my son was born and her resources were thankfully in reach! I appreciate that she gave me space when I needed space, but was sure to check in. I felt comfortable contacting Tamoyia even about more intimate pregnancy concerns, and that alone was a lot for me, someone who admittedly doesn’t do well asking for help. In preparation for labor and delivery, Tamoyia suggested and even set up a birth photographer to help us forever remember this once in a lifetime moment. Again we were reluctant, but both Tamoyia and the photographer were extremely understanding and patient and to this day I am grateful because the moments captured are priceless. While my pregnancy was a dream, I had a long and very difficult labor/delivery. Tamoyia was there when we called (though she was regularly checking in leading up the time), and she reminded me of the different techniques for coping with the pain. At my peak of labor, she reminded my partner and I that we had options. She stepped in on my behalf to the midwife during delivery, when she saw that my best interests were not taken into account. Tamoyia even went so far as to contact and follow up the hospital after birth to hold the labor/delivery team accountable (for good and not so good behaviors). I am SO APPRECIATIVE of a doula that went and continues to go ABOVE & BEYOND even in my postpartum. I am grateful and thankful to that I had Tamoyia on my team, she became like a family member. The use of a doula is important, for what role varies by individual but Asha Birth Services is equipped and ready for it all."

"I would have been very stressed and lost without my doula Tamoyia. When I got pregnant I was newly married, transitioning into my marital home and constantly traveling for work aka too many balls in the air. Though I am very decisive, and through, i. e. type A, I found myself drowning in all the prenatal and baby information. My doula stepped in and was able to streamline the information so I could make informed decisions and prioritize tasks, as well make me feel at ease. She was unflappable, focused, informed, made sure my wishes were followed and understood my concerns. Even my husband who would rather do everything and I mean everything himself instead of pay for it agreed that my doula was a wise investment especially since my aunt who is a midwife could not be at the birth."
