"Depends on your provider. I disliked my first provider (MD) but love my new provider (RN)"
"If I could give negative stars I could. Last Friday Katia Coley of Lifestance Health almost cost me my life. I have crippling panic attacks and take 0.5 mg to stop them, it's pretty much the only thing that stops them. I'm going through a very stressful period in my life (new job that I've now lost because of Katia's terrible treatment plan), and was also having more severe anxiety caused by a medication switch that Katia suggested. I didn't hold this against her as she prescribed it with good intentions in mind, however, I started to take more xanax because I physically couldn't function from how crippling the anxiety had become and I didn't even realize I had developed a xanax addiction until Katia cut me off cold turkey (which landed me in urgent care because it is factually dangerous to cut off a xanax user.) No other medical professional I spoke to could make sense of her decision, especially since it's very easy to ween off of such a small amount, I've done it plenty of times. I realized after a few days, I was having withdrawal for the first time in my life and asked her for a refill three times (withdrawal getting worse between each ask, having more panic attacks and intense anxiety). I've been off and on xanax for 10 years and take such a small amount (I've never asked for/needed a higher dose), I don't feel a "high" from it (too low of a dose), I literally only take it to stop the anxiety and panic. It helps me to stop shaking and get my breathing under control when I can't. Katia put me into withdrawal for the first, and hopefully only, time in my life. Last Friday I was faced with either killing myself to stop the suffering (which I considered cus I'm deeply depressed which Katia knew), or having to sheepishly call someone to pick me up and take me to urgent care/the hospital because withdrawal is just as awful as people say it is and I was having nonstop panic attacks. Katia treated me like I was a drug addict instead of a patient. When I went to urgent care they said I clearly wasn't a drug addict because a thirty day xanax supply usually lasts me 2-3 months, and they understood why I went through the last one quicker than usual because of my body disagreeing with welbutrin. They said katia put me in a dangerous situation and that I need to get a new psychiatrist immediately, one who understands my situation and how panic disorder works. 3 doctors, 4 nurses, and 2 therapists agreed that what Katia did was "cruel" and "reckless," one of them even compared it to withholding medicine/chemo from a cancer patient. If I had never met Katia, I don't think I would have ever known the trauma of withdrawal. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Except for Katia maybe."
"I have been looking for a psychiatrist who knew what they were doing, cared and listened. It took a few years. Seeing a couple of different doctors and being very disappointed and sad that I wasn’t getting the help I needed. My prayers were finally answered at Lifestance with Katia Coley. From our first conversation I felt like we already knew each other! Now that’s the kind of person we all need as a doctor! Someone why feels like a friend. I also have an amazing Counselor there as well. I am very blessed!"
"I had a virtual appointment scheduled. I did miss it and was charged $65 for a no show which is fair, if I would have actually missed an appointment that I could have attended. I immediately rescheduled. I was called by lifestance approximately 10 minutes before my rescheduled appointment. They stated that since I was an initial visit it had to be done in person. I then messaged my provider and asked why I was charged the no-show fee if she couldn’t perform an actual visit the first time. The provider stated I was a no show and that was correct. But I asked why I was even scheduled with her virtually if she doesnt take intial virtual appointments. Anyway, I cancelled and won’t be coming back. I was also able to find another provider who had better availability."
"Called life stance over a year ago to see about psychological testing for my daughter due to some concerns. I was told there was a wait but that she could see a psychiatrist in the meantime; the psychiatrist proceeded to tell me my daughter needed the testing before anything more could really be done so I requested a spot on the waitlist. It has now been a year and I called for an update only to be told it would probably another year before she could be seen, the first person I spoke to though did let me know that they had called me in March of 2023 regarding an appt and I didn’t respond. That call was about a cancellation but by the time I called back someone else had already claimed the appt but it seems they took us of the waitlist due to incompetence. I then spoke to Sarah in scheduling who claimed there was still a lot of people before my daughter and it would be many months or a year before she could be seen. Don’t waste your time on Life Stance and go anywhere; I hope they are all proud of how well they help at risk people."
