"After the Uvalde tragedy, prayer, and constant thought, I felt it was necessary to post this review. My 4th grade son was heavily bullied earlier this year while attending Pilgrim Christian Day School. In my opinion the school did very little to address the severity of the situation. The children involved were to be suspended, then I was told they wouldn't be because of concerns expressed by other parents. There was no real accountability, intervention or meditation for the students involved. No apology, no consequence. The bullying policy is dated and literally included four bullet points. As a Christian school, teaching Christian values, the board and administration should be embarrassed. Kids are resilient! However, no child should ever have to experience what my child experienced. Enrollments and money should never be the reason why toxic behavior is not addressed! I immediately removed him and with therapy, family support, God, and a positive Christian environment at his new school he's thriving. I would recommend making sure the school and board has done everything possible to ensure the emotional, mental and physical safety of the students enrolled meet updated standards. Installing cameras in classrooms, hallways, at the playground and updating student policies."
