"This night of help was amazing. Dr. Aaron Rudd was amazing with helping my mother. Due to my mother’s illness it is hard to get efficient care sometimes in the ER. However, he was understanding of her illness and executed a plan to make sure she felt comfortable. He was very patient and kind. Her nurse, Suzanne C, took great care of her as well! Richard was awesome! This night was rare for me in my experiences with hospitals and it was a great experience overall. Therefore, I felt it was important they got recognized."
"Let’s be very clear, the medical care you receive from this group and the billing from this group are two totally different issues. If I register upon arrival, giving VA hospital Center my insurance information, why should I have to experience months of harassment and incompetence to have my bill paid? I was told EMAs equipment was down and the information was not transferred over. Well by these reviews their equipment is ALWAYS down. I have called them and give them the correct information several times to no avail. The representative must be located in a foreigner country, in a room with no windows. Jose demonstrated no ability to mentally process information. I don’t feel special, this appears to happen to a large number of their patients. Virginia Hospital Center is my hospital of choice in the DC metropolitan area, it’s just a shame that they allow EMAs retched billing practices negatively reflect on their excellent patient care."
"We received notice that our account was going to be turned over to collections five months after an ER visit. The outstanding balance was $35. They confirmed my address and had it right, but we received no bills until just before the "client services" call to warn us of collections. As other reviewers have said, billing is horrible."
"My son and I went to the emergency room because we were hit by a PW County driver. The experience at the emergency room was great, however, dealing with EMA was horrendous! We thought the insurance company of the driver was going to pay the bills which delayed our payment. When we found out they were not going to pay, we immediately sent the payment in. EMA, kept sending us bills for the service, which we paid, and finally sent the information to a collection agency (United Consumer Inc.) who was even worse! Come to find out EMA posted the payment under my other son as an overpayment and kept staying payment was never made on behalf of the son that the services were for, even though the check stated "services for (my son's name)" on the note section of the check! Dealing with the Collection agency got me no where so I called EMA directly to figure this out."
"My date of service was 5/21/2014. Apparently, the hospital didn't provide EMA with my proper insurance information. I received a letter in the mail about a month ago requesting my insurance information. I faxed the letter and a copy of my insurance card to EMA. Just yesterday, I received a call from one of their representatives stating that I need to provide my insurance information. I called them to verify their fax number and faxed my insurance card again, with the attention to the name of the representative that apparently has my file. I wonder if they'll process it this time. I don't have time to provide the same information over and over again. If the person handling my file cannot enter my proper information into their system, maybe another capable representative can enter my information in so my services can be billed to the proper insurance carrier. I don't want to send this information in for a third time next month. This company needs to get their act together. If I have to send the information in again, I will contact the hospital and request that they change their affiliation."
