"Dr. Rubio is top notch. He has taken care of all three of our kids since they were born. He is professional, knowledgeable, kind and responsive. Highly recommend Dr. Rubio and his practice. Your family will be well taken care of."
"Dr Huynh is sincere, patient, warm, and helpful. Willing to do the extra to help solve a concern and respectful towards empowering the growing child to manage and communicate their health status."
"Forget same day appointment calling in the mornings is like the hunger games for same day sick appointment. I like Dr.Libby Dr.Rubio and Dr Kathleen but they do not see patients just virtual appointments. Dr Rubio was very good with my daughter through her ear tubes and adenoids and referred us to an ent. I think the problem with this practice is just it’s so many departments the billing department is a nightmare I feel like every time went I owed money. I paid so much and the appointment staff well they are disorganized they never set up the correct visit we’ll visit for my baby’s shots and he fell behind so I luckily got the clue and switched back to my old pediatrician who has seen my first since a baby now he is 10. He vaccinate all my kiddos on time even during the pandemic when my baby was born on March 12 2020 so literally felt it was a disorganized mess whenever they refuse vaccinate accordingly. I do not like that they come into the room with laptops and do not really know what’s going on. The front desk girls were very short and rude and I think I left crying most of the time. As a busy mom of 4 they did not keep us to date and they never can get all kids in at once. I think they should not accept new patients especially bigger families because it always seemed like a nightmare. I also spent more on urgent care since not being able To get Same day sick appointment. I hate leaving bad reviews but now that I am back to my old pediatrician I’m like thinking of how awful of experience I had here."
"This review reflects multiple experiences with VPG over several months and at multiple locations. I am incredibly disappointed in my experiences given how high the reviews are for this practice across multiple locations. Visit 1 (Herndon) - 9 Month Check Up My child's appointment was at 9:40 am. Although I filled out and sent all necessary forms and medical records, I arrived 10 min early to ensure that there was ample time to complete additional paperwork as needed. We waited an exceptionally long time (nearly an hour past our appointment time) to be taken back to a room for the baby’s vitals to be taken. After that, we waited almost 30 min before we saw the provider. Once done with the provider, we waited about 15 more min before a nurse came to give my child her shots. From the time I walked into the office to the time I left, we had been in the office for over 2 hours. In total, we were probably with the nurse or doctor for only 10 min of that time. I understand that things come up and sick children take priority, but 2 hours for a healthy well-child visit is an outrageous amount of time for a 9 month old infant. Visit 2 (Fairfax) - Flu Shot #2, Covid Shot #1 I called to schedule my child's second flu shot and first covid shot as a follow up the vaccinations she received during her first visit. I was given a Sat date at Fairfax. I asked if there had been enough time from her first flu shot at her 9 month appointment and the required waiting period for the second flu shot. I was told yes. Upon arriving at the office, I was informed that (1) the appointment was only for a flu shot and not a covid shot and (2) she was 3 days short of the required time needed between the two flu shots. I scheduled an appointment for the following Wednesday for both a flu and a covid shot. Visit 3 (Fairfax) - Flu Shot #2, Covid Shot #1 I arrived for my child's vaccination appointments early and in time to fill out the necessary paperwork. Despite being in the office only 3 days prior and confirming that she was scheduled for both a flu and covid shot, I was told only the appointment was only for a flu shot. Eventually, they agreed to do both vaccinations. I filled out the two short forms and I watched the forms get carried to the tray about 10 ft from where I was waiting with my child. Over the next 30 min, I watched ~3 families who arrived after us and had later appointment times get called back for vaccines while our forms were shuffled to the bottom of the tray. After speaking to the receptionist, they finally called us back. However, they only brought the covid vaccine into the room. I was told, “No one knew that you were here for a flu shot” after the nurse left to get a flu dose despite being told at check in that my child was only scheduled for a flu shot. I then had to re-fill out the form. On my way out of the office, I saw that the original flu shot paper I filled out was the only paper in the tray. Visit 4 (Aldie) - Covid Shot #2 On the Mon before my child was scheduled for her second covid shot, I received a call asking if I was able to come in on that same Mon for her second shot; I was unable to cancel my meetings at the last minute and take my child in. I confirmed my appointment for 9:30 am the next morning. Approximately 1 hour before my child's scheduled appointment time, I received an email saying that her appointment had been canceled with no additional details. Despite several attempts to call and speak to someone at the Aldie office, I was unable to get through. I went to the appointment anyway and my child was promptly seen for her shot. However, the nurse was unaware what covid vaccine dose we were in the office for and believed that my child was also receiving a flu shot. I find it difficult to believe my child's vaccination record was inaccessible as part of her chart / medical record. Overall, my experience with VPG has been extremely negative. There appears to by a systemic issue across all VPG practices regarding efficiency, communication, and medical record review / maintenance."
"Virginia pediatric group is a great practice. Dr Rubio is awesome and very knowledgeable. All 3 of my children sees him! The nurses and front desk staff are great - courteous and efficient. Excellent office."
