"I have been with Ascension for over 15 years. At some point my doctor left, and I was not notified. I called to have a RX filled that I have been taking 9 of the 15 years and I was told I wasn’t able to have it refilled bc I hadn’t been seen in three years. Mind you I have seen multiple other doctors within the Ascension group just not my GP. I was told on a Thursday that I would have to wait until Monday to be seen to receive a refill. With out the meds I get very ill, and to top it off I am NOT ASKING FOR NARCOTICS!! Just a simple prescription I have had for the last 8 years! My pharmacy ( not part of Ascension) realizing the necessity was kind enough to provide me with enough of my prescription for the days until I could get to the doctor. Then just just a few weeks later ( today) I called at approx 930am and asked for a telemedicine appt for earache/ ear infection. I’m trying to utilize this new ( to me) program offered through Ascension, bc wow how great right! WRONG. The women on the phone who told me sure no problem. A doctor would call me today. At 330pm I recvd the call only to tell me if it’s an ear issue I must go to Urgent care. I tried to reason with the doctor and assure him that I have ear infections 1-2 x a year and simply need an antibiotic. Again not pain meds or any thing schedule 3. Just a simple antibiotic. And like a robot he repeats the same exact sentence. “ if it is an ear issue you must be seen by urgent care”. I understand then the men and women who work as receptionist do not or are not required to have medical training … fair enough, however could you please advise them on the whos, dos and don’ts of telemedicine so that patients are waiting for 6 hours only to be told they can’t be helped. All other Aspects of Ascension are amazing, and have literally saved my life. however the General Practitioners of new are less than satisfactory. I traveled an hour to stay with my previous GP for visits. This will no longer be the case. I will be transferring to more local doctor who will hopefully better in touch with their patients needs. You have gotten too big for your own good Ascension Catonsville and it’s a shame. Points of contention 1. Charting- things I have updated more than once as in my address we’re still not correct 2. Communication - from the front desk to the front line, somehow gets lost in those 50 feet 3. The wait. You have more doctors than ever but the days to be seen increase."
"I scheduled and went into the doctor's office for a yearly physical and left thinking everything was fine. My insurance covers preventative care so it's free for me. Two weeks later I received a bill telling me that I own nearly $200 for an "office visit" because the doctor's office didn't bill my insurance for the physical I received. I have called 3-4 times and filed multiple appeals with the office and they refuse to change the billing. Not only am I now on the hook for almost $200, but I am also missing out on a free $500 contribution to my HSA through work for getting a physical. It's safe to say I will never be going back and I will be telling all of my friends and family and anyone else that they should avoid this place at all costs. They do not care about you, they do not work with you, and they do not know how to bill for what services you receive. Update: instead of updating my bill with the correct code, they just decided to add another charge to it. The original, fraudulent charge for a service that I didn't receive is still on the bill and they will not remove it. No one from the office will answer my calls. This place does not care about you and they will make up charges to scam you out of your money. Avoid this place like the plague or you will regret your choices."
"I was at this location today for an appointment I scheduled online. When I arrived the doctor was not accepting new patients. I scheduled the appointment online. Someone should have called and told me that she was not going to see me or just as easy send an email. My time is just as valuable as the doctors. Very unprofessional. Now I have to search for somewhere to go."
"This used to be a great clinic. The providers are wonderful. But my last three visits took hours and I am still waiting ( now over a week) for a script refill I have taken for years. The request has been made twice by my pharmacy and twice by myself. My last visit took 2 and a half hours to just read a tb bubble test. My previous 2 appointments were nearly an hour wait past appointment time. Great providers. But count on 3 hours or more for scheduled routine exams or vaccinations.And if you take daily critical medications, especially if you are older, it is no longer safe for your care here."
"Dr George Durst and his staff are the best. Been a patient of his for over 15 years. Great doctor and has always been there for me when needed most. Martina and Beverly are also wonderful. Never ever had a bad experience dealing with Dr Durst and his team. Very caring, professional, personable and will always take the time to talk and listen, never just dismisses you. Highly recommend as a Primary Care provider."
