"Although the school gets high ratings it does not have support services for students with disabilities or with IEPs and it is highly overrated. The school does get high scores, but that is most likely due to the support and attention to education of the parents and socio-ecomics than the management or qualities of this particular elementary school. Considering all of the elementary schools in this part of Fairfax county feed into the same middle (Sandburg) and high school (West Potomac) when the educational assessment starts to really matter the focus on this elementary school being above the rest in the area is nonsense."

"Waynewood Elementary is a very nice school, tucked away in the Fort Hunt area of Mount Vernon, Alexandria. It has an active parent teacher Association and good facilities. The school itself will be going through a complete building renovation during the 2016-2017 school years; the school will remain open."
