"We came across Josie’s German Cafe on our way down to Florida. It is located not too far off of the 83 highway. Once we arrived we were greeted and seated promptly. The hostess was extremely nice. My father being German and myself living in Germany in the past agreed that the restaurant was very authentic to a small German gasthaus. My father ordered the rolauden with spaetzle and red cabbage. My mother and I both had the jagerschnitzel also with spaetzle. The jager sauce was by far one of the best I have tasted even in Germany. All of the food was top quality and as I said would give any restaurant in Germany a run for their money and I have been to many over there and have had many schnitzels. We all agreed if we lived in the area we would come by at least once a week. The hostess (also the chef) informed us that you are allowed to bring your own wine and beer, which is a nice option. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely be back. Thanks for an amazing meal. Paul"

"A Great “ German Home cooked “ meal is what you will get when you stop in. Lunch or dinner, when I’m in the area I stop in. Actually, I even go out of my way Stop in, and I know you will want to come back"

"After scouring the area for authentic German food I found this place online. So glad we did. Our meals were delicious. My 9 year old daughter practically licked the Bavarian Roast Pork plate clean. My husband said it was the the best spaetzle he has ever had. I went for the Sausage plate and it was awesome. The potato salad was so good. I will invariably drive back up when I need another fix. Portions sizes were very filling. I won't need to eat until lunch tomorrow (maybe). Thank you for sharing your talent with the world."

"Had a picture perfect experience eating here! Service was very helpful and friendly, food came out FAST and was delicious, and I loved the style and feel of the dining area. This is the kind of place that's easy to miss and probably doesn't get a lot of traffic (I was the only dine-in customer at 7 pm on a Wednesday). Sausages and strudel were great, but actually I thought the potato salad was the best! If you live in or are visiting the Mechanicsburg area, definitely try it out!"

"Cute restaurant with wonderful German food that is so good after the first time we ate here we came back the very next day! We’ll be frequenting Josie’s whenever we’re in the area, the Apple strudel is delicious and so is the spatzel and red cabbage sausage plate and everything we have tried has been fantastic. They also have great mint iced tea."
