"I delivered in this hospital, the nurses and doctors were wonderful. The billing department was a horrible experience. My insurance only needs a pre auth in order for them to pay for my bill. And apparently no one knows what to do. Every time I call, someone tells me different. A few months ago I called and they told me they will handle it, the next few weeks I call for a follow up and they tell me I have to call my ob to get that pre auth. The OB office do not know what they are talking about. So I guess what they want me to do is to look for OB doctor's personal phone number to harrass her to get that pre auth so the insurance can pay for the bill. I am not paying $9000 dollars out of my pocket for their negligence."
"They saved my life for sure. I was so out of it for the first 2 weeks I don't remember much but the next 2 were incredibly helpful nurses, doctors and staff. Also, my grandmother had open heart surgery here and they saved her, too. They have been very well known for being an excellent heart hospital. I would rather go here than any other hospital and even Hopkins can't compare in my opinion and especially with the food and that is very important when you are so sick you can't eat. Could even save your life having food you actually want to eat."
"My brother was taken to this hospital our experience was quite disappointing. Despite the urgency of the situation, the staff did not attend to him in a timely manner. This lack of prompt care was concerning and added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation. In addition, I found the attitude of the morning shift staff to be rude and disrespectful. It's disheartening to encounter such unprofessional behavior, especially in a healthcare setting where compassion and empathy are crucial. I hope that takes steps to address these issues to ensure that future patients and their families receive the care and respect they deserve. It's important to remain courteous and objective in your review, focusing on the specific aspects of your experience without making unfounded accusations. Your feedback can provide valuable insights for the hospital to improve their services."
"The care at this hospital has really gone downhill. My left foot was swelled and painful suddnely so I went. 3 hours later, after no labs or imaging, I asked what was happening. I was told I was being send to the urgent care department. 3 more hours later, still no labs or imaging, I asked again. I was rudely dismissed by the triage nurse. So I got completely upset. She finally called the back and a woman came to get me.so by then I was in tears. This woman lead me to the urgent care department, never offered me a wheel chair and I couldn't keep up with her. As I was trying and holding on to the walls, she turned and with her hands on her hips was waiting.. saying nothing. I said I can't believe you haven't offered a wheel chair. When we get to the room I sit in a recliner and she throws the leg up and bangs me in the foot. She told me she was going to get a pillow for my foot and never ever came back. So another hour later I get an x-ray. The Dr comes and tells me it's arthritis. Mind you the discharge papers say bone spurs. I will not be back nor anyone in my family again. Also I found out they put in my visit summary I refused additional tests,, but I was never offerdrd anything else. Lies to cover up in case there is more wrong with me. Horrible people"
"November 19, 2023 Outstanding Level of Care - Letter of Commendation Thomas B Smyth, M.D. I want to express my immense gratitude for the outstanding care I received at St. Joseph Medical Center. From the moment my partner and I walked through the doors, we were greeted with kindness and compassion, which immediately put me at ease during a difficult time. The culture at St. Joseph is truly remarkable, and I felt supported and cared for throughout my entire stay. The facilities at St. Joseph Medical Center were top-notch. The cleanliness and organization of the hospital created a welcoming environment, contributing to a sense of comfort during what could have been an overwhelming experience. I would like to single out the CSU team for their exceptional level of care. They were attentive, and compassionate, and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and well-being. Their dedication to their patients is truly commendable. They also showed genuine empathy towards patients like myself. You could see how they cheered me on when I was beginning my recovery. Thank you for your unwavering support during this challenging time; it has made all the difference in my recovery journey. Additionally, I would like to personally thank Pat, who was assigned to me on my first night post-operation. Pat was an angel in disguise - always there when I needed assistance, offering words of encouragement, and making me feel safe during a challenging time. I would also like to thank my nurse in the Stepdown, Nancy. Nancy was awesome she gave me sound advice while under her care and was very supportive and happy for me when I was released. Lastly, I must mention Dr. Finney, who treated me with professionalism and kindness from the moment we met. Dr. Finney's expertise in his field is evident, but what sets him apart is his genuine care for his patients. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly, answer all of my questions, and ensured that I fully understood my treatment plan. I would also like to thank Dr. Finney's entire team Amy, Kate, and the entire staff were fantastic. Simply Dr. Finney and his team are a Class Act. Victor and I would like you to share our thanks with the CSU Team and Dr.FInney and his team. To everyone at St. Joseph Medical Center who played a role in my care - from the nurses and doctors to the support staff - thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering commitment to providing exceptional healthcare. I wholeheartedly recommend St. Joseph Medical Center as a place where they can find it all. Your dedication has made a lasting impact on me, and I am forever grateful for your service. CC: Thomas B.
