"We were on our way to Hoboken from Six Flags great adventures and found this place for a late lunch. We were the only two in this restaurant and the manager was adjusting the angle of TV and was making sure that we could see proper Shahrukh Khan Dancing!! I wish they pay that much attention to details when it comes to their food. Interior decoration and furniture were really attractive and inviting. We ordered vegetarian fried rice and dahi Vada. Dahi Vada was like a hard rock stone...lol. fried rice and mango lassi were ok."
"GREED That is the easiest way to describe the quality of the food at Mrs Kumar's. I visited the restaurant with family on Sunday evening. My review is based on what I ordered and (tried to) consume myself. I ordered the chicken Schezwan fried rice. When the food arrived, at first glance there was plentiful of fried rice. But upon checking, there wasn't a shred of "chicken" in this so-called "chicken fried rice". There was rice, peas, fried egg and an unexpected ingredient (more on that below), but no chicken. I found few tiny shreds of chicken after I dug through the fried rice. Now, about the mystery ingredient. I understand "Schezwan Chicken Fried Rice" is a contortion or fusion between Indian and Sichuan cuisines and something I loved it. I had it hundreds of times in the past, but never had I found cumin and that too such a generous portion of it in Schezwan Fried Rice. It was clear that the chef decided to use Jeera Rice as the bare this abomination and not the regular white rice. I am not sure whether it was laziness or the lack of white rice which made th chef make this decision So, I packed up the abomination and brought it home. I then took a chicken breast, chopped into thin slices, added red pepper and Sichuan spices, stir fried it along with some onions. I couldn't hand pick the cumin out of the rice, so I had to make do. For Mrs Kumar's, I am enclosing my picture of how Schezwan "Chicken" Fried Rice should be made"

"I recently had the pleasure of hiring Mrs. Kumar Home Style Indian Cuisine for my son's party, catering for a group of 60 people, and it was an absolute success! From start to finish, the experience was exceptional, thanks in large part to the restaurant manager, Pankaj. Pankaj was an absolute delight to work with. He took the time to understand our preferences and helped us design a menu that perfectly suited our guests' tastes. His expertise and guidance were invaluable in ensuring a memorable dining experience for everyone. Pankaj went above and beyond by personally delivering the food and coordinating with our servicing company to set up the dishes in chafing dishes. His attention to detail and commitment to excellent service were truly impressive. Now, let's talk about the food. Every dish was a true masterpiece of flavor. The quality and authenticity of Mrs. Kumar's home-style Indian cuisine were evident in each bite. From the fragrant spices to the perfectly balanced flavors, it was a culinary journey that left everyone raving. "From the name we were expecting a very cozy, hole in the wall type of place but this place was nothing like it. Very well decorated and inviting. Even on a Wednesday night every single table was taken and there was only one serve running around doing best he can. He could barely get to everyone and that makes a very unpleasant dining experience. Our appetizer took longer to come out so before we could take few bites, our entree was served. We again had to wait for him to provide us plates. We wish the food was better. We got the Mrs. Kumars assorted tandoor platter and couldn’t tell the difference between different tikka. They all tasted very bland and were super dry. Lamp chop had no flavor as well. For main course we had chicken korma with bullet naan and peshwari naan. Both naan were fine but once again the chicken was dry and overcooked."
