"This shop is over an hour away from me, but it’s worth the trip. Records are cheaper than online and big box stores and I’ve noticed that the records themselves are usually better taken care of (no creases on the cover is especially nice.) I haven’t purchased blu-rays but if that’s your thing the prices seem much cheaper than online as well. Even the employees seem to want to help you save money and I really appreciate that, especially considering how expensive vinyl can get. If I had one complaint, I would’ve like to see more modern r&b/hip hop, but I also understand that it probably wouldn’t sell as well as what they currently have out."
"The PRE’s unique advantage are reasonably priced records. When you do a comparison to Discogs, PRE seems to always come in lower priced—even more so for more collectible records. For example, I was able to get a near mint copy of the movie soundtrack from Phantom Thread at $90, whereas on Discogs it’s listed for double the price for a record in similar condition. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Oh and the 45s are all behind the counter, so make sure to ask to see them if that’s what you’re looking for."
"I can see why this place is internationally recognized! It has an incredible selection of $1 albums, the newer or collectible ones are always reasonably and appropriately priced, the vibe is no frills yet still colorful and cool, and there are other mediums to buy too (think magazines, CD’s, movies, the works)! Super knowledgeable, expert staff too. Such a gem!"
