"You can definitely find better places to braid your hair in Middletown. The braiding here is decent but basic, they do not try new modernized styles so don’t bother asking for anything out of the ordinary because they will say no. The braiders can tend to be rude sometimes, they barely interact with the customers and only talk amongst themselves most of the time in a different language. Even if you have an appointment most of the time you will still be waiting there extra time to get in the chair, I’ve waited 30 minutes - 1 hour after my previous appointments because they were not finished with another person. A braider cancelled my appointment without notifying me and when I came and she wasn’t even there after speaking with her on the phone.. after that they lost me as a valued customer."
"I had a appointment for 9:30 am and was kept waiting for 10 extra minutes. The whole time I was there, they were talking instead of braiding! Not just small breaks to talk, for the full 5 hours! The braids came out nice though!"
"Not going back, DONT GET CROCHET FAUX LOCS, paid $100 for the service, tipped 20%, the style only lasted 10 DAYS. I asked if they do faux locs and the answer was immediately "No." Sensing my departure, they offered to do crochet faux locs instead. Terrible idea. My hair texture is 3B/C. I volunteered to detangle myself while I waited my turn to be in the chair. I do have a lot of hair, so I get it. At one point, the lady handed me the blow dryer so I could do it myself because she wasn't being careful with getting pass the knots. I was never told I didn't buy/have enough packs of hair, which was 5pks. I was dismissed like it was meant to look this way. Exposed cornrows with poorly spaced faux locs. My neck still has bumps from overly tight braiding. Attached is the after photos."
"My hair came out good. I got box braids done. For over an hour, I was waiting to get my hair done since there were other clients that arrived before me. It was awkward waiting around at first, I felt like I was getting ignored. Then once I got in the chair, it took over 5 hours to finish my braids. Which was expected for that hairstyle. The good thing is that they provide hair for the braids. They charge more based on the length & how much extensions were used. My total came up to $195. Much more than what I was expecting to spend. One thing I will add, is that the braiding was painless. I did appreciate that. They have a TV & play African movies. The shop is spacious enough. It was an ok experience in general, got the job done with my hair. Wouldn't say I'd be excited to return though."
