WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center 2500 Hospital Drive, Martinsburg, WV 25401

"I went in to the ER for the first time ever on evening January 30th. I was in alot of pain from what I thought was a kidney stone and so did the doctor, so I was told to go to urology, in which I did, the next day, about 12 hours later because I was in pain again. Urology says kidney stone is too small and not in a place to be causing my pain. Sends me back to ER for pain relief and the second doctor I saw was a little more thorough and said fibrous cysts in my uterus and a cyst on my right ovary, but a couple of nurse friends of mine tend to think my problem is my gallbladder. The care I received at the ER was good, but I feel the medical system has resorted to a pass the buck system when it comes to figuring out what is wrong when someone is having issues and that made me feel like I wasn't important as a patient."

"Not sure where to begin. Got here at 730p with my son who is an athlete but suddenly could not walk. It was after 11p before he was seen. He’s put into a room where the linen had not been changed. We asked 3 people to change it and no one lifted a finger so my son laid on the floor (yuck). 2 of the previously mentioned people saw him on the floor and still did not change the linen for him. It’s currently after midnight and we are still waiting for results from his scans. I used the bathroom and it was so filthy. I took pics and I’m ready to forward them to the BBB and the health dept. This is ridiculous."

"My wife just had our daughter there and the staff was so amazing and very well trained. They were extremely concerned about my wife and daughters health and making sure that they were comfortable through everything after she was born. They took any extra time with us that was needed for explaining things and taking time to check on us even if we did not call for anything. I really appreciate all the staff that helped my daughter come into this world and took such care of my family."

"I went to this hospital after going to the Urgent Care many times and never found out what was really going on with me. They admitted me quick and ran many exames on me and I finally had a accurate diagnosis! The Doctor and nurses where very nice and answered all my questions. I highly recommend!"

"My mother is currently staying there. It's awful. The nurses are opting in to keeping her locked down to a bed and skipping her therapy treatments. She is recommended to be receiving acute therapy and they are skipping basic therapy all together. I've had discussions with doctors, nurses, case managers. No one cares. They won't care for her and have said transferring is out of the question. So my mother is locked in this facility with absolutely no real activity (she is a fall risk and therapy and moving would help with her recovery) Even the doctors don't know what they are talking about. When I brought up the 24 hour restraints, she insisted that 24 hour restraints were not a thing. She signed the order for them. And we are on the second round. Even better! The nurse tried to put it on me that I'm not there sitting with her. I live in another state! This hospital is slowly ensuring that my mother's progress is halted now if not forever. I highly recommend sending your loved ones absolutely anywhere else."
