Reviews of Dundalk Animal Hospital
"Got to be the most friendly people and take very good care of my cat Symon. Symon hates having his nails done. But the Dr is so gently and manages to get his nails right. Also the Dr informs me of anything that might be going on with Symon. I would recommend Dundalk Veterinarian Hospital to anyone that lives there fur babies."
"Absolutely LOVE Dr. Maskol. He has always been very kind and gentle with all of my pets over the years, and is very patient in explaining things to me as well. The prices here seem very reasonable compared to other places I have visited from time to time. My only wish is that they still had walk-in hours as they used to or at least reserve some slots for sick visits each day. Sometimes there is a need for an urgent visit, but not to the level of resorting to the ER."
"This veterinary office is a complete disaster. It became evident to me why their prices are so low. The final straw that led me to write this review occurred when I called today to obtain my animal's records, only to be put on hold and promptly hung up on. In hindsight, my initial experience with this place should have been a red flag. I had to make multiple calls just to get someone to answer and schedule my appointment. It's clear now that the hassle was an early warning, and I take responsibility for that oversight. The scene I was presented with at this office resembled every stereotypical chaotic vet scenario you've ever seen in comedy movies. The lobby was packed with people and animals, tensions were high, children were crying, parents were mad, patients were even more upset (likely stemming from the prevailing sense of impending doom in that space), and the receptionists were overwhelmed with a line of people out the door waiting to check in and out, and a constant stream of phone calls. Making matters worse, my appointment in June 2023, scheduled for noon, started an hour and a half late, causing me to miss a meeting. I intended to arrive just before my appointment to minimize stress for my cat. It seemed like a great plan, but unfortunately, it proved impossible. The front desk was managed by two older women using outdated paper records, probably contributing to the delay because they had to manually search through their folders to locate the correct file for each person. They had computers, but they were turned off and not in use. The phones were ringing incessantly, with everyone, including those in the lobby, placed on hold. Without exception, every phone call was put on hold throughout my visit, extending from the moment I arrived until the time I left. The situation became so dire that the vets had to come to the lobby to check people in. Despite the chaos in the lobby, the staff abandoned the front desk, leaving calls unanswered and people forgotten. Calls were still coming in while no one was at the front desk. At least three individuals were on hold at that moment, and they were likely forgotten, as I observed no one answering the phone while I was in the lobby. When one of the receptionists finally attended to a call, it appeared that the caller had grown impatient and hung up, based on the receptionist's remarks acknowledging the situation. Moreover, someone who had evidently been on hold for over half an hour walked in and expressed their frustration to everyone who would listen. This place was surreal. All I could do was wait in the lobby amidst chaos while my cat became increasingly agitated with every new dog eager to inspect her carrier. Everyone else appeared to be chosen to see the vet ahead of me. My cat was furious when I was finally selected to see the vet, a very friendly and understanding man, an hour and a half past my scheduled time. Despite the fact that I administered prescription gabapentin to my cat at home before our appointment, the vaccination process turned into a chaotic struggle, requiring multiple individuals and gloves to handle a 9.5-pound cat. During the procedure, she managed to break free, leaving one assistant gripping the scruff of her neck. She wriggled, emitting fierce, unearthly sounds, seemingly on a mission for revenge. The assistant, understandably panicked by the challenging situation, extended his arm and retreated, lifting my cat off the table. Amid her dangling and twisting with nothing short of a vengeful, bloodthirsty look, the vet instructed him to let go, and my cat flopped onto the table as everyone stepped back. Frankly, considering the circumstances of this appointment, I'm surprised things went so well. Unfortunately, my request for a discount from the vet was turned down. Apparently, the office is not consistently in such disarray. I couldn't confirm as I have no plans to return. I haven't even delved into the events that unfolded during my attempt to check out. It was just as bad. The overall experience was anything but satisfactory."
"One of the best Veterinary Groups and staff in Baltimore. I have easily been using them for 25+ years. They can be busy but very accommodating."
"They have taken such great care of our animals over the years! Be sure to book your appointment early to be seen. The most affordable vet and the staff is so kind"
