"My husband and I got married on March 10, 2023. We came here to choreograph our first dance together (Marry You by Bruno Mars) and we came in knowing absolutely nothing about dancing. With the 11 lessons that we had with Grace and Nastya, we not only choreographed our dance, we also learned so many different ballroom dances that we will always remember. When I signed us up for dance lessons, my husband was definitely not on board, but after our consultation, learning just a few steps, and what our dance could possibly look like, we both were excited to move forward in learning together. Grace and Nastya worked great together to choreograph our dance (you can see a few action shots in my photos here). During our time here, we were also invited to the February Valentine's Day Social where we got to meet all of the amazing dance instructors, and all the people who were also taking dance lessons at the time. During this social, they created a mock dance floor for me and my husband so that we could practice how it might feel on our big day when all eyes are on just the two of us. We would definitely recommend this place to not just couples who want to learn a dance, but to absolutely anyone, from not knowing anything about dancing, to experts, you will learn a lot here. We will definitely miss you guys, and will come again someday to learn something new."

"Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Doylestown is my happy place. I've always wanted to ballroom dance but never had a partner who wanted to go with me. On a whim, I purchased a Groupon for two 30-minute dance lessons because the studio advertised lessons for individuals (not just couples). Bonus: It was a low-cost way to try out the studio. In other words, it was a win-win situation. From my very first call to schedule an appointment, I was impressed by the staff's responsiveness and helpfulness in providing information and answering questions. Grace's friendly smiling face at the door is ever a delight. It is impossible to say enough wonderful things about my instructor, Ilya. He is a consummate professional -- skilled, knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and attentive to detail. Whether Ilya is providing enthusiastic positive reinforcement or a gentle correction, I appreciate his constant immediate feedback, which is vital for improvement. Honestly, the first lesson was so overwhelmingly positive, it only took minutes for me to know that ballroom dancing was something I wanted to continue doing. Injuries from past dance classes have made me vigilant about not twisting my knees. So far, these lessons have been a fantastic low-impact exercise, which is a polite way to say they're kicking my rear (and legs and back and arms). My posture is getting better. My mobility and balance are improving. (Once AARP starts sending you mail, these are things you think about.) Even my brain gets a workout. For me, the best part of these lessons, though, is how they force me to center myself and focus on the present moment. At the beginning, there is the awkwardness of being hyperaware of everything from oneself to the instructor to the room. But as you gain comfortability and confidence, that awkwardness transforms into a holistic zen that comes from being connected -- connected to one's own body and mind, connected to one's dance partner, to other people on the floor, to the music, to the ground... It is a truly engaging, creative, and FUN activity. It's more than fun. It's pure joy."
