"Yesterday we had to finally have our cat Carrot Top put down. The cancer took its toll on him. The staff were so caring and understanding and genuine with both us and him. We both were a mess and they were so compassionate about our feelings. We adopted him almost 15 years ago. He loved to play cat games on his tablet and watch kitty videos. He was an indoor cat, but was allowed to sit outside on the front porch on the beach beside me, but never allowed to try and get off of the beach or He lost his beach privileges the next day. He never met a woman he didn't love. He was my best kitty friend and slept with me every night and loved to watch Tom & Jerry cartoons in the afternoon. When I was sick, he was always right beside me. My heart is in a million pieces, but I know we gave him the best life possible."
"On Saturday December 16th, our family dog had reached her end. Our vet was closed until Monday. Our dog Twinkle was no longer eating, drinking, could barely move. Thank God our sons were home from college…the staff were wonderful, kind, empathetic…they gave us a room to spend time with her, the staff even brought a basket of snacks, Twinkle couldn’t eat. She had a wonderful life, over 14 years old…our boys n her grew up together. This was such a traumatic event, but the staffs kindness meant everything to our family. Twinkle left this earth surrounded by her family, surrounded by love, the staff encouraged this. Dr. Graves was so empathetic…and put my family at ease. Thank you—all the staff—for your kindness."
"So, I had to take my cat in because he hadn't eaten in a couple of days. Turns out he was showing signs of lymphoma, among other things. Now, I will say that the vets were amazing with him and kept me up to date on any changes in him and did their due diligence. HOWEVER-some of the staff at the counter I feel only seem interested in getting the most money possible in a way I've only seen previously at car dealerships. We had already paid the full amount that we could with Carecredit and then when the final bill came it was another 900 dollars above what we had agreed on. Luckily my dad was able to cover that but only after having to argue with them because they didn't want to take a payment over the phone. And to me that's just ridiculous. And what if I didn't have a family member who could help? Unfortunately my boys health continued to deteriorate, and I called about possibly being euthanized there, but the lady on the phone made me so angry with the way she did her spiel about payment immediately instead of showing any compassion that I went with Peaceful Pet Passage instead. The customer service is way better there and they showed a lot more empathy, and I was able to say goodbye to my baby boy at home while he was surrounded by love. So yes, it's an ER and the doctors and staff deserve to be paid, totally agree. BUT the payment system and the way the staff interact with people needs a lot of work. Rest in Peace my little man, I did all I could do try to save you, and I'm sorry I couldn't do more."
"They were able to get our dog in as soon as possible. He attached a porcupine and had quills in his nose and mouth. They were very friendly, personable and made sure that not only our dog was taken care of but kept us updated on how long it could be and to make sure we were even comfortable."
"I brought my dog in as he laid down the previous night and refused to even lift his head. A quick blood test later and he has Lyme disease. They said he had to stay overnight or there was a good chance he would die. $2,400 later, we are checking out and I explained that he doesn’t have a regular vet and his new practice can’t get him in for over a month. They said that was fine and if we needed refills on his pain medication to get him through to his new vet, just call. So far so good. I’m very grateful for the care they gave my dog as he was in very poor shape when arriving. Fast forward a month and he’s out of pain meds and slowing down. He’s very sore and uncomfortable so I call. They told me I’d have to come in and pay another minimum $170 for an exam before they could refill his medication. I tried to explain that the doctor said to just call for pain meds until he can get seen, but the doctor then denies saying anything like that and said no she will not refill his medication without another visit. I politely said “you’re insane if you think I’m paying $170 for you to tell me my dog is sore”"
