"Overall, this restaurant gets mixed reviews from me. The gentleman who greeted me and took my carry out order was wonderful. You got my order correct, and it was quickly done. As this was carry out, he was the only staff I interacted with and was very good, so I am left to assume that service is generally good there. Food is where I am going to stop at three stars. To be Frank, it might be more like 2.5. We ordered the salmon entree, the skirt steak entree, and the shrimp wrapped in bacon appetizer. The shrimp were fantastic. Flavor was on point, super high quality, was very pleased. The salmon was also very good. Well cooked, and great flavor. The skirt steak and the sides however wear an absolute mess. The skirt steak was literally raw on the inside. And keep in mind, I am a huge fan of rare and medium rare cook on meat. But this literally was cold on the inside and just had not been cooked. With many years in the restaurant business and years of personal grilling I know the difference, and this was just really poor execution. I had to bring it home and finish cooking it myself. At the end of the day it was tough, chewy, raw, and lacked flavor. The side dishes of Mexican rice and refried beans were absolutely atrocious. Bland, flavorless, and honestly I believe they were at least a day or two old. Again I've worked in restaurants, and can usually tell these things. The Mexican rice in particular was nowhere near living up to its name. I literally had a microwavable bag of Uncle Ben's Mexican rice the other day that was more flavorful and more authentic than this. Overall, it is not a good value. Even the good food I think is criminally overpriced when dinner for two without any drinks is almost $80. Again, there is some good food there, but nowhere near living up to it's price tag. If money is no object for you, then great. It's probably worth it. But I can give a list of authentic Mexican restaurants in the area where you will get food that is as good or better, for half or even a third of the price."
"Please get the chicken quesadillas if you go here for dinner(you definitely should). They were absolutely gaseous. Made my taste buds tingle. Service was amazing for such a large group. Price was not bad at all. Server was an absolute goat. Highly recommend."
"They have a limited menu but what they have is delicious. I ordered the short ribs plate. They were served off the bone and were tender and very flavorful. The complimentary Margaritas just put this meal over the top. I will be returning."
"Tamarindos Is located in Flourtown, tucked away in the burbs of Montgomery County. In my recent experience, there was a pleasant one I had met up with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. They were able to accommodate our party of nine outdoors. The night that we went, it was one of the coldest days in October in the low 50s. That night they had plenty of heat lamps outside to keep us warm as well as some live music for entertainment. They’re able to give us an appetizer platter to accommodate for such a large group with the assortment of different dishes. I was recommended the octopus for the adventurous people. It was pretty good had a nice smoky and flavorful taste. One of the main attractions of this place are their free margaritas. Despite being free they were very good margaritas and very plentiful. These are the pros of our experience. Some of the cons if you are not in a party of at least six you cannot make a reservation and expect long waits from our experience. They were on point with refilling our drinks and getting our appetizers out within the first half hour however, our main entrée didn’t come for well over one hour after our appetizers had already been out. They were very busy and we were a rather large party but it was a very long wait. Conclusion, I had a fantastic time there for my birthday the drinks were plentiful all the company was great they were very accommodating with bringing three heat lamps over to us at one point the food was rather good despite the way and they were very friendly they had music to entertain, and it was fun times all around."
