Baldpate Mountain

"Good mix of trails, from intense to leisurely. The red trail has some good climbs but can get really wet during the spring and fall, so take water resistant boots if that's what your doing. The trails are mostly well maintained and there is a conservation area on the white trail where there is a pollinator area, some tables, and a look out. There are also some cool old buildings on the property. Take bug spray!"

"I really wanted to go hiking and in the area this mountain is not bad! I came on a Sunday in the late morning (~11am) and there was ample parking. We hiked about 6 miles and when we finished there were more cars in the parking lot but not super crowded or anything. In the fall the trees are pretty and there is cell signal everywhere. Overall the trails are pretty easy to follow and shaded. You can get a decent workout since there is some elevation (our elevation map looks up and down and up and down, etc). Come Again? Yes! This satisfied my hiking cravings. In the area there aren’t that many places to get a decent hike but this one is good."

"This is my second hike here. When I first tried it during winter it was so open. I wanted to see it during summer. It didn't disappoint. I started off in BLUE and it felt I stepped into some preserved bushy woods. In a mile come the boulders. It wasn't that bad. And then continued on to WHITE then ORANGE, GREEN and BLUE back. Total of ~6-7 miles. There were some open areas that was too hot for me to handle. Saw the Delaware River at the summit. Overall it was a good hike. The markers could have been better. I felt as if some good Samaritan had written the direction/instructions using some permanent markers:( if not for those could easily miss the trail."

"We did a bit of the blue trail from the Fiddler's Creek parking area and it was quite nice. We originally wanted to go to the Goat Hill Overlook area to enjoy views of the Delaware river, but when we arrived at that parking area. It was overflowing with cars and there was no parking. In fact there was a police officer there who had a call in for tow trucks to remove cars that had been left on the sides and in the way. Apparently everyone had the same idea as us of trying to enjoy some outdoor time on one of the first nice weather weekends! I suggest not even trying to go there on nice weekends. If you can, schedule your trip for a weekday when it might be less busy. The parking area there holds maybe only a dozen cars. We will try again soon"

"Not the worst-marked and -maintained trails, but not the best. Ample parking at the bottom and top. Bathrooms also in the main parking area. The map at the Fiddlers Creek rd lot is wrongly marked. I recommend wearing hiking boots or waterproof shoes, rather than sneakers, especially on the red trail. Blue and yellow trails are tough. Would be cautious with inexperienced hikers and children or older people. Red and white trails are suitable for mountain biking and horseback riding. Easy trails. Would return in the future."
