"Great, if all you want to do is buy clothes that make you look like you have an active hobby. Worthless as an actual equipment store. Protective padding is essentially non-existent. Helmets are all snow or cycling focused. Mountaineering and climbing equipment? Try again. Want a mountain bike, great we'll sell you that! Padded shorts with hard inserts, shinguards, knee gaskets, good knee pads, elbow pads, reinforced gloves? Nope, get bent. REI is a joke and a shadow of it's former self. I'm sure the c-suite assumes people just want to order online. Sadly as somebody with an active lifestyle of hiking, archery, and aggressive inline, somehow you succeed in carrying nothing I need or want of quality or even quantity for THREE of my hobbies. Loss of potential sales, $250+, well played. "Oh, you want a selection of decent protective gear? Ah, sorry we only sell the stuff to make you look cool while you pretend to do a sport.""

"Incredibly rude cashier at checkout -I went to pick up an online order and was waiting at designated spot. The cashiers ignored me for a while, and proceeded to take several customers who had gotten into the normal checkout line well after I arrived. When I finally asked if someone was working the online orders a cashier told me they were helping other customers and when I told her I understood but I had been waiting before those customers arrived she rudely ignored me and went back to the person who had just gotten in line and told her “you’re fine I was with you first”. I just wanted to make sure I was in the correct place and they were aware that I was there, since the cashiers had ignored me and taken several other customers who arrived to the checkout area after me. I wasn’t trying to skip anyone else’s turn in line. It would have been faster and resulted in less rudeness if I had ignored the signs telling me not to enter the checkout line and just waited in the normal line, since they kept taking people who were joining the line after I had already been waiting."

"Genevieve installed rigid fork, stem, and handlebar on my mtb and she did an excellent job. She’s very courteous, knowledgeable, and very professional. She also answered all of my emails in a timely manner. If you ever need anything bike related, I highly recommend her. She’s awesome! I’m very satisfied with the result."

"This is my go-to REI. Staff are always friendly and super helpful. Their ski tuning and wax service is pretty limited in availability tho. Never had a problem taking returns here, and I've found some great deals on garage sale items here."
