"A tried but true statement when it comes to running a kitchen for our busy family of five: a place for everything and everything in its place. When we moved into the home we knew we were going to renovate the kitchen at some point but didn’t realize how important it was going to be so soon! Nothing seemed to work space-wise. Tanya and her team knew exactly what needed to change to make it work and make it beautiful. We actually made the space smaller and squared an awkward pentagon layout - it closed the distances between essential spaces such as the obvious like the stove and sink, but also being able to serve hungry children sitting on the other side of the island while standing at the sink. The cabinets to the left and right of the refrigerator brought everyday pantry items into the kitchen where we can easily get them and has become a lifesaver for little hands getting snacks after school! Accessing the small appliances easily and then being able to close the doors to hide them is truly luxurious. I cannot say enough about the beauty of the wood and craftsmanship. The color and organic elegance of the white oak is more stunning against the plum island than I could have imagined! Plum doesn’t even capture the color either, it’s warm and inviting and surprisingly neutral almost like a well worn oxblood leather sofa. Tanya and her team made all the recommendations for the lighting, hardware, and fixtures as well - even though they were only recommendations, I’m so glad we took every single one! The unlacquered brass just glows in the space and is getting more patina every day. Our kitchen is the center of our home and to create one as functional as it is beautiful was a tall task, and UKB hit every note."
