"We had gone to a cat adoption event at another store. They did not have any females but they had an event here with a few. The store is not in a great part of Frederick. When we went there staff were welcoming and friendly! They were extremely helpful. This store has an amazing selection. My main gripe is the back areas where we could meet the cat smelled so strong of ammonia that I couldn’t even go back."

"I was just in there and wanted to purchase some tropical fish. The girl walked up and was working on betta fish and never acknowledged I was even there. No hello, no can I help you, no nothing! And then another employee came back and said she had a phone call and they never acknowledged me! Customer service is apparently not taught at Petco."

"Visited the store on a Monday night around 7pm to replace my daughter’s goldfish who had died unexpectedly. Asked one of the employees for help, once my daughter had picked the one she wanted, and got hit with a barrage of questions about what type of set up I had and what other fish I had. Explained what size tank I had and was told that it’s recommended to have at least 20 gallon tank size for each goldfish I own. Basically the guy was trying to sell me a new set up. Told him I just wanted the fish for now and was told to wait. 2 minutes later his manager appears and tells me he cannot sell me a $4 goldfish since I only had a 20 gallon fish tank set up. I was literally speechless and my daughter was disappointed to say the least. Horrible experience! Went to Petsmart and was able to get what my daughter wanted and happy assisted by the staff there. Absolute last time I will ever shop Petco in this location."

"Overall good service! The people are really friendly and helpful. The store is just filthy!!! You walk into an horrific smell. It doesn’t look like the floor has been cleaned in months. There’s pee and dirt stains everywhere. Walk to the grooming area and there’s dog hair all outside of the door before you enter and more when you open the door. I have never seen a dirty large store chain. Ever!! Due to this I won’t be coming back. It makes me worry if they’re not keeping the store clean, is my dog getting a proper cleaning? Are they cleaning the tools used?"

"Save the headache and dont order script dog food from them on line, Three times in a row had damaged cans I couldn't use. Had black mold. Most stores don't sell prescription food so had no choice in trying it again."
