Applebee's Grill + Bar

"Came here on a holiday for lunch and it was really quiet so we got seated in no time. Our server was great- he was cracking jokes and made up for the quiet atmosphere of the restaurant. Got the two orders of the two for $25 (which is a great deal must I say). For appetizers, we got the spinach dip and onion rings. Both were huge in size and we were almost full off of these haha. Spinach dip was really good, but the chips accompanying them were too salty unfortunately. The onion rings were big and crunchy, really good. For entrees, we got the classic cheeseburger, bourbon chicken and shrimp, and four cheese mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken. The cheeseburgers were super solid cheeseburgers: the meat was cooked nicely, it was juicy, had a good amount of veggies on there- overall a really simple, yet good burger. The mac and cheese was unfortunately not as good. The chicken was well cooked but the pasta did not have any flavouring and all its flavouring really came from the sweet chicken. The bourbon chicken and shrimp was also solid, the chicken was slightly overcooked but the taste was there nonetheless. Overall, this place has always been pretty consistent and affordable and the service made the experience even better!"

"I cannot say enough about the extraordinary treatment I received. I ordered a rib eye steak, medium rare. It was served well done. I did not register a complaint and proceeded to eat it. A few minutes later our waitress stopped by and asked how was our meal. In a matter of fact manner I said the steak was okay but I ordered it medium rare and it was served well done. She offered to take it back. I told her "no", the steak was fine and that I just wanted to let her know because she asked. A few minutes later the manager came to our table and apologized. I told him there was no need to. He proceeded to tell me that I would not be charged for my meal. I told him it wasn't necessary. I can't say enough about the treatment I received at the Pittsburgh Mills Applebee's. The staff exceeded my expectations. Thank you!"

"If I could rate lower than 1 star I would. Me and my 5 friends went out to eat here on Thursday night and the service was absolute TRASH. Our waitress came over and didn’t even introduce herself… then got everyone their drinks except for mine. I ordered the Tropical Zombie and waited 15 minutes for it. She proceeded to come back to the table and admit that she forgot about it, then had the audacity to ask me how it was. Then the same thing happened when I ordered an appetizer. My friend got hers in time but I had to wait over half an hour. After finally, realizing she forgot about my appetizer and she brought it back to the table where I immediately rejected it because I knew it was cold and I wasn’t about to eat cold food. Then they made us wait over an hour for our checks. Worst service ever.. will never go back"

"It's Applebee's so it's not the greatest but it was open late on a Saturday. Our waitress was wonderful. She was super friendly. Checked on us. Made sure our drinks were filled and food was brought out quickly. My burger wasn't the worst I've had, but nothing special. The fries were amazing."

"I stopped here alone one night. They said half hour wait. Tables were available but not cleaned as per usual. I opted to sit at the bar as a recourse though I have never done so. I must say the two girls at the bar were incredibly busy. Filling and serving drinks. There has got to be a better way. Got a menu right away, but despite that it took awhile to get asked for my order. Food was good, just not as good as usual."
