"Been meaning to try this place for years and wish I hadn’t. Having worked in the service industry for years, I don’t usually make a point to make a negative review, but JESUS. I got a battleship Italian and it was sincerely the worst Italian hoagie I’ve ever had. Apparently their Italian hoagie is two layers of bologna and one layer of ham and that’s it LOL. I’m from Pittsburgh and understand a lot of places around here put bologna on an Italian. I don’t like it or agree with it but I usually just take it off and it’s no biggie. these guys make it the whole sandwich i guess. No cap, no salami, no pepperoni, nothing. Worst sandwich I’ve ever purchased, not even exaggerating. I would have preferred to have spent $22 at subway and i despise subway. $22 for a long bunch of bologna and a tiny bit of ham is a scam. Must be making money hand over fist with this business model. I’d wager you guys would be out of business if you didn’t have a gimmick like long sandwiches. Literally the worst sandwich I’ve ever purchased and I count Wendy’s as one of my favorite restaurants."
"$8 for a Turkey Torpedo. This review is only for the Turkey Torpedo. Tasty bread, TON of turkey. No cheese. Mayo, Italian Dressing. Triangle Subs has a long history. The establishment itself has an old-timey feel. Place orders at the bar for walk-ins. The menu's prominently displayed against the back wall. Casino machines on the right. I am going to say something that some people may not agree with. I found the sandwich to be filling, however it's taste profile was minimal compared to what I was expecting or heard of this place. Service was excellent. Parking is street side. Located in the heart of Swissvale. Give them a try and form your own expectations. Mine were not met."
"When you think of pittsburgh institutions of food you need to meet certain criteria. Quantity, value, quality and community reach. The triangle has been providing deliciously enormous sandwiches to the Swissvale/Edgewood community for generations. The sandwiches are perfect for a group to watch the games with, and they even have a little bar inside if you wanna keep the party there. The bread is soft and the meat can be hot or cold. No one’s going hungry with one of these battleships around"
"Wanted to try this place since last year. I finally got a chance to experience this on 09/10/23 after a Steelers game. Oh WOW, awesome hoagies. I had a torpedo cheesesteak and a battleship combo of corned beef and turkey. My only negative would be that too much oil was used as it stained through the wrapping paper. Overall, I need to make another visit when I'm out there."
"As a former battleship sailor, had to try it. Huge and price is good for what you get. Recommend battleship lager as well"
