"Amazing restaurant with innovative Korean-inspired menu. Cocktails were also great. The highlights were the foie gras nigiri, the crab and bacon hush puppies, the pig wing, and the uni bucatini. It’s also very casual and features a local bar-type atmosphere. We will be back for brunch and dinner again."

"Service is very good, the waitress was very attentive and accommodating. Food was tasty and I loved the pumpkin pie rotating cannoli. I was during launch but from the atmosphere itself I bet this place would be great for dinner and beer with friends."

"We went for brunch, which has a different menu than the rest of the week. The mushroom omelette was very good, and the French toast was huge and delicious. We want to go back to have dinner. They currently have Velum beer on tap and a few cocktails, with plans to expand the drink menu in the future. This is where The Map Room used to be. They've updated with Twin Peaks decor, which is pretty cool."

"I’ve been to Hemlock House three times and was waiting to write a review. The first time I went was their Grand Opening. We got the fried artichokes, steak tartare, kale salad and uni bucatini. I adored everything but the uni bucatini. Since my first time, I’ve returned and tried the fried smelts, the French onion soup and I’ve been for brunch. Everything has been divine! The cocktails are great, service is excellent and food is even better. If you’re looking for a hidden gem restaurant in Pittsburgh, Hemlock House is a great place to visit. Quick add: I’m a bit of a French toast snob… and their French toast is INCREDIBLE. It was light and fluffy and the raspberry compote balanced the sweetness perfectly (wow typing this review has my mouth watering) Their sausage gravy and biscuits are super tasty too! Next time, I plan on trying their eggs Benedict!"

"Overall good experience. We started with cocktails and the Dirty Gin Salad was a delight for anyone that’s a fan of a briney drink. We shared the kale salad, fried artichokes, and beef tartare which were all tasty. The tartare was well seasoned. After we shared the uni bucatini, which we had high hopes for; however, it wasn’t very hot and could have used a bit of spice. Service was amazing and I will be back to try more menu items in the future."
