"Something new is that camping is no longer free. $10 per night plus $6.50 registration fee. I enjoy the remoteness of the site. Be prepared as there is no water source and no bathroom."

"The other motorized site up on Laurel Mountain is better, but is busier and harder to reserve. Overall, I'd rank this as the #3 campsite of the 6 (4 Forbes and 2 Buchanan) total I've been to. You are a little near the main road but still feel a bit isolated. Problem is turnpike (less than 1 mile away) noise in the distance, however, it's still pretty great since it allows a cripple as myself to get away and isolated. Still a great feature of our state forest system. Look at other states and you'll be hard pressed to find one with free isolated vehicle camping."
