Reviews of Butler Brew Works-Middlesex
"Wonderful location and atmosphere. Sadly the food and service were underwhelming. Reuben was on the smaller side and the corned beef was dry (and a bit grey). Upgraded my fries to the pierogis and they seemed like the ones you can get from the frozen section of the grocery store. Kid meals were generously sized and although truffle flavors elevate normal fries, it’s sadly not a preferred flavor for my kids. Whoops, should have reconsidered their side. Food did take a bit longer to come out but it was not as long as what others have claimed in previous reviews. Bummed that they ran out of the Arsenal cider, but their (fall) flavored mule was really tasty. I also don’t think open toed slides (with socks), long nails, and midriff tops are the most appropriate food service attire. Overall, it’s ok. Glad they’re around but it would not be my first choice."
"Place has gone downhill in the past three or four months. Quality of food is bad. Boneless chicken wings are literally the same chicken nuggets you bake in the oven at home. No flavor, pressed chicken nuggets. Horrible. Chicken sandwich was burned to a crisp, fries were cold, and all of this fun took about 30-45 minutes to unfold. Zucchini planks are off the menu now (it was the best appetizer), and they are scaling back their already dwindling menu. It's evident the owners are sacrificing quality in the name of profits, which is a shame. The waitress did her very best, but it's an uphill battle there. I'd really like to find a local place to go to once per week, but this is not it. The one in Butler is great, however. I think this store is the forgotten stepchild."
"I have not visited this establishment. However, I will very soon as we just moved in the area. I read the management's reply to Ian regarding allowing kids to roam around, and I must say it was spot on correct and extremely polite. Adam's township has completed a beautiful playground with a large splashed pad and pickleball , basketball courts , baseball fields where kids can have a blast and feel free to roam around a be kids, and if some adults don't like it, oh well, they can leave. Why? Because it was made for roaming around."
"Went to restaurant for a Drag Brunch & we sat outside . When it started raining , the server told us to go wait in our car until it stopped. We ordered our food and waited over 2 hours for bacon & eggs. Server was rude and didn’t apologize. Two people at our table never received their order after 3 hours. I know they were short staffed, but this was unacceptable. No apologies and no acknowledgment for the poor service . I will never return"
"This was a horrible dining experience for our family. Heather, our waitress was unkept, and her nails were filthy. She added a 20% gratuity for 5 adults on 2 checks. She was rude to all of us. She was also very upset that we chose to sit outside. She acted like it was a huge bother. Our food was cold and our orders were all wrong. We were given no apologies. I would never go back to the Middlesex location. *In response to the owners comments below on my review Number 1, I have never called you or spoken to you. Number 2, there were not 3 kids' meals ordered. One of the children was a baby not capable of eating any food at your establishment. Number 3, my review was true, and I stand by it. Number 4, no one ever asked us what they could do to make things right because we never spoke to anyone but our waitress. As for you saying that someone told you," just make sure Heather is never there again." That is a blatant lie we never spoke to anyone, only left reviews online. I had written that I would never return to your restaurant in my review, so why would I say something as silly as make sure Heather is never there again? The only true part of your response was that I left 2 reviews because I did. I left one on Yelp and one on Google. I stand by both as they were true and accurate in our experience at your restaurant. Reviews help people to make informed decisions on the restaurants they may or may not be going to. I would never want someone to experience what we did. It's hard for all of us to get together as a family and when we do its a shame we had to spend our time and money at a restaurant that has very rude service, cold food, and an owner that cares more about defending reviews than making their customers happy. You didn't pay for cold, unedible food and then have to pay 20% gratuity for a rude waitress. I'm sorry my reviews upset you so much, but they were true and accurate in our experience."
