"You may want to time your visit to Chincoteague for when the figs are ripe (mid-August), if you do, be sure to stop by Secondhand Sunshine or simply the "Thrift Store" (in red text on their building ) which is behind the kite shop on the corner of Maddox Blvd. and Deep Hole Rd. If you happen to be on the island at any other time, you will find a unique assortment of local craft goods and secondhand household items and clothing for all. It's well worth stopping by to see what's available. I was looking for dishes to serve ice cream in small portions, and found just what I wanted for a very reasonable price. Others in my family walked away with earrings, T-shirts and shorts."
