"I came across a Groupon for The Color Room and read the limited reviews associated with it before contacting Sandy. He was very accommodating and actually met me that day for a consultation. We discussed many options and he seemed very knowledgeable so we set up an appointment for later in the week. We went with a balayage and a couple lowlights as I wanted something low maintenance and a bit darker for the fall. After he finished and blow dried my hair, I was visibly upset and even began crying. You can see the results from the pictures. My hair was multiple tones (orange on the bottom from it not lightening enough, dark brown streaks that I guess were “low-lights”, over-processed white ends). There were splotches and spots as well (you can see one area in the picture taken by the stylist trying to fix my hair the next day). It was truly horrible. Sandy said that it would look better curled and offered to fix it. Given the fact that I’ve never in my life seen a worse job (and I’ve done my own with no training) I obviously was hesitant to let him give it another go. I told him I’d feel more comfortable paying someone who knew what they were doing to do it right. He told me that he would charge me half price for “materials and his time” which equalled 110 DOLLARS. There is no way the materials cost that much and he wasted my time and irrevocably changed my hair. I had to pay another 200+ to get it fixed and the hairdresser literally said “WTF” when she said it and asked how he even had a license. Multiple other hairdressers from Artisanal Salon in Fredrick, MD also looked at it and couldn’t believe what they saw. I contacted Sandy after to show him the pictures the hairdresser who fixed it took and shared what she said hoping he would do the right thing and refund some/all of the money or at the very least apologize and admit he did not do a good job. Neither of those things happened. He apologized for me not feeling like it turned out the way I wanted. It makes sense now why he has a Groupon special-he said it was because he just moved places from Pentagon City but clients will travel with a stylist when they’re good-especially 10 minutes down the road."
