"They did not have all the side dishes on the menu. Therefore, they should take it off the menu. It was early, like 11:15 am. How could you be out and the place was not crowded? You just opened. Anyway, I ordered the brisket platter, and the sides were garlic mashed potato and Pico de Gallo and baked beans. They didn't have baked beans. The waitress said I could have any side I wanted.I chose sweet potato fries and corn bread. The fries were slamming! Not greasy at all. Seasoned to perfection with sea salt flakes. The brisket was good, sliced a little too thick, served with an Italian bun, and it didn't look like their usual Pico. Just diced tomatoes. I have eaten here several times. That's how I know what they serve and what has changed. I was still hungry, just tired of eating what I ordered. Now my friend ordered chicken fajitas, man, was I jealous!!! Chicken with red, green orange peppers with red onions sautéed to perfection. It smelled sooo good!! Well, since I was still hungry, I asked for their Angus bacon burger with how they made her fajitas, minus the chicken. Oh my goodness!! Out the ball park!!!"
"The St. Louis ribs and cornbread were great. I thought the potato salad and coleslaw were good, boyfriend thought they were great. The macaroni and cheese and the green beans were unbearably salty and the macaroni and cheese had enough black pepper that I could have rolled a chicken in it for baking. I threw most of my serving of both out and I Do Not waste mac & cheese or green beans. Today, my boyfriend mixed some of the leftover the mac & cheese with the coleslaw. I asked if it was less salty. He laughed and said "No. The coleslaw just cut it enough to get it down." This was our first time eating from Hog Fathers and based on the incredible reviews I have to guess our experience was a fluke, but holy moly I've never had such a salty mac & cheese and I've never had slow cooked green beans that I just couldn't eat before. We ordered these for pick up on 11/4/23. I really hope it was a fluke. The ribs were delicious."
"Awesome place to grab a bite to eat! Our waitress was wonderful. It's a nice little mom and pop BBQ place, definitely worth a stop if you're in Washington pa!"
"Hog Fathers is a casual local restaurant that serves mostly BBQ food. I ate lunch here once. My husband’s fried chicken had a crispy breading and moist flavorful meat. My husband described this fried chicken as some of the best that he has ever eaten in his life. His half rack of baby back ribs were tender and tasty. My brisket was a large size. The baked beans were very flavorful. The macaroni had some spice and could have used a little more cheese. The cornbread was moist and tasty. The fries were thick and crispy. The mashed potatoes were instant, I think, but were also very creamy."
"This was the first time that I ate at Hog Fathers. We purchased take out for a few people, sampling a variety of food. First off, I really liked the ribs. We tried both the St. Louis and Baby back ribs, and both types were cooked well and had a lot of meat on them, much more meatier than at chain restaurants. I could have used some additional sauce though, and would ask for some next time. I personally had a ribs and fried chicken combo and was very impressed with the fried boneless chicken that came with the dinner. It was a bit salty, but not too much for me. The coleslaw was a bit bland for my taste, but it was good. I was disappointed with the French fries that came with the combo. They were packed in foil with the ribs and chicken, and were soggy when I went to eat them. My son had a side of fries that were packaged separately and they weren't soggy, but still not my type. I like shoestring type french fries and these were way too thick for my liking. My sister had the salmon and while it was good, she found a few bones in it, which is not a good thing. Overall, I enjoyed the food and would order here again, stopping at McDonald's on the way home for some fries."
