Hamir's Indian Fusion

"This restaurant is the perfect combination of authentic Indian food and a modern fine dining experience. The menu is pricier than other Indian restaurants I've been to, but this is adequately reflected in the quality of the dining experience. The service was attentive and welcoming and the food was presented beautifully. The chef (and likely the owner) came out to greet each table throughout the evening to ensure the meal was to our liking, which I found to be a lovely and heartfelt gesture. The aesthetic presentation of each food item, from our appetizers, to our drinks and desserts, was so thoughtfully and pleasantly curated. A colleague we met for dinner had never tried Indian food before, so she ordered the Thali entree, which includes a variety of sampling options, as shown in the photos. We found this unique menu item to be a wonderful introduction to the vast range of enjoyable Indian dishes. I highly recommend giving this a try to those who are either new to Indian food or those who are feeling indecisive when choosing an entree. One last note: We hadn't realized that the restaurant closed at 9 pm on a Friday night, so we were the last table in the restaurant, which I often adamantly and intentionally avoid. However, the desserts still came out picture-perfect (just after 9 pm). The chef/owner came out, once again, to ask us to please take our time and enjoy them. This type of genuine connection between the one masterfully crafting a dining experience and those who are fortunate enough to enjoy it is something that is not found often and did not go unnoticed. We are very much looking forward to our next night out at Hamir's Indian Fusion. Well done to this establishment."

"Good food and lovely cocktails! They serve you a taster platter of curries available for the night to help you choose better. The owner/chef greets your table personally to ensure everything is up to the mark. We loved the desert fusion the most! Definitely looking forward to future food festivals the restaurant will have!"

"Wow! I decided to give this place a shot despite not usually eating Indian food, from very spicy experiences in the past. Everything was so pleasant - the service was friendly and helpful with suggestions; the food was delicious, came with a curry sampler, just as spicy as was good for me (level 2, may be much if you don't usually like any spicy), and quick to come out; and Hamir came out after my meal and after dessert to check in. I will be returning to try more and maybe get some curry for take-home as well. One of the best places in downtown York I've been to!"

"Finally made it! I've been wanting to dine here for far too long and I wish I would have come here sooner. This is by far the best restaurant in York and a new favorite all around! Service is phenomenal (we had Sam who was a total gem), the food is perfection, and the atmosphere is just lovely and quite cozy. I appreciated the sampling of sauces before we ordered, as well as the appetizer sampler! The samosa was incredible. I also recommend the creamy butter sauce - tangy, savory, sweet, rich and spiced to your preference. We can't wait to return for another meal!"
