"Omu is a great hair braider. However, she is not professional with her clients. She schedules clients on top of one another. Furthermore, she will postpone and reschedule your appointment , then not show up to the new appointment. If she conducted her business professionally, her hair shop would be great!"
"Scheduled an appointment. Showed up for appointment. Was told the gurl who was to do my hair wasn't coming. No call prior to my arrival to inform me. The owner has my cell phone number and we texted the day before! No apology. No nothing!!!"
"Grace is the absolute TRUTH! She is very delightful and cheerful. She is practical and listens very well to what you want. She is creative and regardless of what you ask for, she will add a flare of glamour to the style. You can expect many compliments! Also, I am over 55 years of age and she does not braid my hair so tight that I cannot tolerate it like so many have done. The braids are tightly performed, but she takes into consideration that you may be "tender-headed". Communicate with her and she listens. She also has flexibility in her hours to accommodate your needs. Prices are affordable. You do not have to supply your own hair unless you have something extremely specific. She makes recommendations to compliment your face and lifestyle. Great staff, they work well together. The facility is clean and I have seen walk-ins allowed, but appointments work the best."
"So as I have come here quite a few times. Services are hit or miss. There is always an issue with respecting customer's time. Especially those with appointments. I called made an appointment for 11am, but based on past experiences I reminded the owner that I don't have the time to just sit in her shop waiting forever. She said well then come at 12pm. I arrived at 12 on a Wednesday (took off from work), upon arrival she was 1/2 through another client's head. The stylist (owner) assured me she would be done fairly quickly as she only had a few more corn-rolls. She didn't finish that client's hair until 3:30pm...and then needed a break before starting mine. After waiting the 3.5 hours, I explained I wanted knotless braids in triangles. Provided picture. After examining my hair she said that my hair was too fine, and too short and it wouldn't look right. I explained that I didn't want traditional braids because it pulls my hair, snatches my edges and is extremely heavy to me. Since she said my hair was too short in the back (my natural hair is cut in bob...so it is short-but I can still put in ponytail), I agreed to do traditional braids in the back to catch it and knotless every else. And I didn't want a bunch of super thin braids. She still discourage me, saying thicker braids won't work. It's now almost 4 hours in this shop with nothing to show for it-so I just said do whatever. At 5:30pm she informs me she has to go get her son. She leaves me in the shop alone, for an hour. 6:30pm, she is back. She has to get her son settled and prepare the food she bought him while she was out. I am livid at this point-but what am I going to do with 1/2 braided head? She starts braiding again, and stops-yet again to fix her toddler a bottle. It's almost 8pm-its now dark outside. She apologizes and tells me she is feeling ill. I swear I wanted to care, but I had been at that shop for now 8 hours and my hair still wasn't finished. My hair did not get completed until 9pm. My entire day gone. Vacation time used from work wasted. She did not give me the style I want. And I hated how she made me feel about my hair. This style should have taken less than 3 hours. I have large box-braids. They are heavy and hard to sleep in. I did not tip her because I felt extremely disrespected as her customer regarding my time, and desired style."
"Beyond disappointed. I have been to this shop many times and have been pleased with my hair in spite of often having to wait long after my appointment time. However my last visit was beyond the worst. I will never go back to this shop again. The stylist was rude, rough on my head, and had an attitude when I questioned the crochet technique compared to the picture I showed her of the style i wanted. She was eager to finish my hair because a number of walk-ins wanted to get their hair done. Not to mention she was hour and half late. I stressed to the owner and the stylist my concern about the style. After leaving I sent the owner feedback on my experience and expressed my disappointment and I still have not heard from her 4 days later. I actually had to go to another salon to get my hair redone. I believe in supporting black owned businesses but the lack of professionalism and punctuality is unacceptable. Unless you are getting a simple style like cornrows I definitely would not recommend this shop. Save your money and time."
