"I am a transplant from the Midwest and was looking for a stylist closer than Maryland and to also get my hair braided. I found Charmaine after a not so good experience with getting my hair braided and let me tell you, I was amazed at her work straight away! She is a true artist who really listened to what I wanted and most importantly what I needed. I’m also military and with how restrictive the hair rules are I needed a stylist who understands what styles I am allowed to wear. She washed, Conditioned, and straightened my hair before she braided it. She was quick, her work was neat and she wasn’t heavy handed. "First I’ll start by saying Charmaine is AMAZING! She’s become my sister, I always leave feeling empowered and beautiful! I’ve been a client since 2015 before she’s had her own salon and she has only grown as a hairstylist. She’s open to trying new styles, is extremely patient and makes sure your hair is on point before letting you leave! Recently I’ve noticed I was loosing my hairs density and length and sis recommended her special formula with proper protective styles to ensure maximum growth. In 3 months my hair had grown about 4.5 inches and the thickness had retuned. I’m very particular who I let braid my hair and I don’t mind the 45 min drive to Franconia as I know I’m in great hands! I’d also like to point out The Loft at Backstage is a dope spot to get all your beauty needs, the salon is clean and they follow all Covid-19 protocols to ensure everyone one is safe to include frequent hand washing, wiping down equipment between clients, plastic smocks to prevent cross contamination! She also has a store to buy products and can create any hairstyle, I always tell her that her hands are blessed beyond measure! I would 100% recommend The Loft at Backstage!"
