"It was clean, the chemical toilets were fine, the other campers were pleasant/ minded. Their own business. It's cold showers only. But it's camping. The staff were very nice at the front office. I came in after hours. Put a note on my car that I'd pay in the morning and nobody hassled me"
"Really wanted this to be a five-star, come back every summer kind of place. The fire pits were not designed for camp fires- so each night, the black belching smoke from each site got so bad we had to hide in our car for a few hours. The metal tubs need more air flow at the very bottom. If only we'd brought a drill, we'd have gone around in the daytime, fixing them by adding holes. Come on, this is supposed to be a nature reserve. How much carbon is this place responsible for with these awful things?! It is an easy fix for the park. People don't read the no food out signs either, so all of our neighbors were raided by horses one evening. PUT YOUR FOOD AWAY, and don't eat in the open! The horses show up whenever they feel like and you're not going to be able to stop them by yelling. I LOVED being on the beach - falling asleep and waking up to the waves crashing was perfect. It's too bad that the quiet hours aren't enforced at all, and other campers stay up past midnight, shining bright lights in your tent like creepy weirdos. That last bit is not really the fault of the park, but it is something to consider bc the spots are right on top of each other. The showers were nice at the end of a sandy, sun screen filled day. And the pit toilets weren't absolutely gross, much better than the alternative. The beach itself is meh. The water is very choppy due to the topography of the underlying coastline. You don't have a lot of room for wave jumping before the sand beneath dips down significantly. If you can push through to the sand bar further out you might be OK but getting out there on a windy day is like trying to roller skate up an escalator that's going down- very hard to make progress! We really wanted to like the place and did have a good time together but don't recommend it and will not be returning."
"Clean and not overcrowded. Campsite marking is a little off, but everyone super helpful. Went right before memorial day, so the bugs weren't bad. The price was incredibly low. No electric has you putting your phone down. Just a beautiful place"
"We camped here a couple of nights and very much enjoyed everything. The site was nice and provided a picnic table and fire pit. There were 2 toilets, showers and water pump. The beach is quiet and didn't have tons of people there like at other beaches. It's a nice place to take your family and pets. Just gotta watch out for horses entering the camp site."
"I drove by looking for wild horses. It seems like this area is where they hang out. Unfortunately I didn't see any, but I didn't realized people camp in tents here!! Not just in RV. Great idea!! There are very roomy restrooms in each area. Note, the toilets are not flushable. Just a toilet with a huge hole. I'm posting a picture I look by the beach to give you an idea how the toilets look."
