"Chef Huang's is a small hole-in-the-wall place in a strip mall. The ambiance is nothing to speak of. By contrast, the food exceeded expectations. I had Hunan Chicken. The chicken was tasty, and the vegetables were a perfect al dente. One quibble: the dish which was supposed to be spicy--it was Hunan after all--had no detectable heat. Next time, I'll ask for extra spicy. I look forward to going back & trying the Szechwan Beef."
"The price was $2.00 less than average, for Pork Lo Mein. The quality, however, was poor. The dish came from the kitchen after only about 4 minutes (a bad sign). When home, I realized why: pre-cooked noodles dipped in water and tossed with sauce. I don’t believe it ever touched a hot wok. It contained nearly no pork at all and barely any vegetables. It was soft spaghetti tossed in a little brown sauce. So sad. I was excited to try a different place in my neighborhood, after reading good reviews. Perhaps I ordered the wrong dish but this place was a one-and-done forever. Sorry Hunan Palace, for looking around on you."
"I chose this restaurant based on the 4 stars rating. I am sorry to say this is not a 4 star restaurant. I ordered the Crispy General Tso's and Crab Rangoon. First of all the Crab Rangoon does not come with sweet & sour sauce at this restaurant. You have to order it separately for an additional charge. No where in the menu did it say this nor was it mentioned when I ordered it. Every Crab Rangoon I've ever ordered comes with sweet & sour sauce. So being the first time ordering from here makes it very disappointing not getting or even being told about the lack of sweet & sour sauce. Secondly, the chicken tasted like it was cooked in grease that had previously burned food in or just completely over used grease. That just makes the dinner have a bad smell and taste. For the price it was very disappointing. Complete laziness and poor customer service from the employee's and management. Would not recommend and will not order from here again."
"Easily the worst food I've had in a very long time. Not a single thing was 'good'. The steamed dumplings were okay, but the entrees I had were both poor and the fried wantons are dismally bad if not inedible. Total waste of money and calories. To be avoided."
"Love this place and the food. Be warned, you should call your order in. Every time I've ordered online, it ends up going to door dash, no matter which method you choose. My door dash orders routinely get intercepted with the driver time jumping 20 min--cold food and they take so much $$ from the restaurant. Chef H is the best Chinese in the neighborhood though."
