Reviews of The Wharf
"We ate the Maine Lobster, New York Steak , Crab Cakes and the She crab soup. All were cooked perfectly and tasted Amazing, it was my Birthday today and the Server surprised me with a cheesecake and candle that was a pleasant surprise. Were from Florida and this restaurant is better then any Seafood restaurants in our state."
"Decided to try this out for restaurant week. I couldn't decide between the she crab soup and the lobster and shrimp arancini. I went with the arancini and my waitress was kind enough to give me a sample of the soup. They were both ok. The soup was heavy on Sherry and taste like it nay have had onions in it as well. For my entree I went with the famous crab cakes. It was an excellent choice. There was all lump and no filler. Very flavorful. And the potatoes were very tasty as well. The tartar sauce had a lot of onion in it, but it wasn't needed anyway. For dessert I chose the bread pudding. It was ok as well. Service was good and all of the staff that I encountered were very nice. Keep in mind that the market square garage parking on weeknights is not $5 as listed on the site. My parking was $17 on a Friday after 5 pm"
"Lovely historic restaurant where yoy can enjoy fresh fish and other alternatives at fair prices. The scalop risotto was excellent as the dumplings. Fast service Good wine and cocktail menu."
"We were in Old Town Alexandria and wanted to try one of the few places I have never been to! The menu is decent! The selection is pretty good but the prices in my opinion are not a good value for the money. The food is very good though, service was a little slow but none the less, I rate it as good. I would probably go back again for a special occasion but it is pricey for a go to place. None the less it is worth a visit if your in old town. It is one the last block that is blocked off from traffic."
"Experienced The Wharf by way of word of mouth recommendation. The couple seated next to us received the same recommendation. They were celebrating 37 years of marriage and were happy with their decision. The creme brûlée and lemon drop martini was the highlight for me. The bread was tasty but could have been softer. I'm a southern girl so I expected more flavor from the fried shrimp. The fries were good. The shrimp Po Boy reviewed the same. Nice texture and fried perfectly just lacking that southern pop of flavor. The chicken sandwich reviewed as better than average. Our server was amazing and the staff was very attentive. The couple next to use were darling and shared some great life advice. It's an amazing atmosphere and I felt valued as a customer. Maybe could have sent the food back or asked for some sauce to improve the taste. Worth a visit. Texas taste buds wanted more so not my favorite DMV food experience."
