"Sweetgreen straight up scammed me last night. My niece and I were downtown and hungry and wanted to grab some quick takeout, and neither of us had ever tried Sweetgreen before. Literally THE FIRST WORDS I spoke to the staff were "We've never been here before, how does this all work?" One employee starts helping my niece build a salad, they're making their way down the line, and I'm speaking to a different employee about the different menu options etc. Again, bear in mind that my niece is 11 and neither of us have ever been here before. My niece has now made her way down to the register with her Sweetgreen employee while mine is ladling a scoop of mushrooms into my salad. We make our way to the register and the total is $38 for the 2 salads. (This is equivalent to the moment a backalley card hustler flips the cards to reveal to you that you've lost). I guess I respect the grind. They totally took advantage of our naivete. That employee 1000% preyed on us, allowing an 11 year old to build a $24 salad. I'm from South FL so instantly I'm like ok I'm being played so hard right now, they're running a 3-card monte hustle on me, Sweetgreen is about that street life...in retrospect it was so obvious too, she just pulled my niece down the line and loaded her up with every single extra she possibly could. I just paid the money and left in order to remove myself from the situation because I could feel myself turning red and my ears started ringing. Let's just say it takes a certain amount of...courage...to scam and openly disrespect a complete stranger right to their face, because you REALLY don't know me. You don't know me. I know for a fact I'll never set foot in a Sweetgreen again because I'm not about that life anymore"
"Two thumbs down for the ongoing issues with portion size at this particular location (which happens to be a short walk from our home, major bummer). Have reported the portion issue multiple times and keep getting $10 credits which is fine for the first 1-2 times, but annoying past that. I don’t want to pay less for half a salad. I want to pay full price for the full salad. Thought this was addressed when we noticed management changed, but unfortunately they still have the same problem. Will stick to ordering pick up and delivery from Pike & Rose location, where we have never had this problem."
"It’s very dirty, restroom and tables are all dirty. The staff is not friendly and it’s a bad experience. The tables were so close to each other that a woman next to me threw her pork to the ceiling and it bumped into my salad. A horrible experience"
"Sweetgreen has gone downhill since going public. How can continue to call itself a health food restaurant any longer if it now sells cured meats (salami) and white rice. The founder had previously removed bacon from the menu on this basis only for a similar item to return in the year following its IPO. It’s menu offerings are also reflective of this shift, as beets and lentils no longer feature on the menu, doubtlessly because it affected profits and the bottom line. Furthermore, sweetgreen obviously is no longer a great place to work, as the employees who had been at this location for years have all suddenly departed in the last 6 months. In sum, the company since going public has begun to act contrary to its original values, and neither consumers nor employees can be reassured that it has their interest (of health) at heart. (No pun intended)."
"Disappointed in this sweet green location due to small portion size and poor customer service. We usually love sweetgreen and it's a go to place for us when we are out and about and looking to grab a healthy and tasty meal... But we won't be coming back to this location. Food tasted good, as it usually does, but the staff person who made our salads did not fully fill the serving cup for the add ins (some of which cost extra) and when my husband asked her to please scrape out the rest of the avocado from the skin (she left a big chunk), she rolled her eyes and threw it out anyway. Seemed unnecessarily wasteful and rude. Can see in the photos the bowls are hardly filled. Overall not friendly vibes from the staff-- just rushed and stressed like it was an inconvenience that we were there. Tables were dirty too. We are usually have no hesitation to spend the $12-15 per salad from sweetgreen knowing it will be tasty and fill us up, but not at this location."
