"We initially intended on eating at Z-Burger, and were pleasantly surprised to find Maman Joon Persian food inside! We ordered Koobideh, Ash Reshteh, and Gheimeh Bajemjan. Being Persian myself, I'm very selective when it comes to Persian food. I'm happy to say, the food here is absolutely delicious and very authentic. It reminded me of home. The owners are very kind, and I only wish I lived in the state so that I could come often! Will definitely return when I'm in the area again."
"A fast food Persian/American restaurant. I took advantage of the Friday Special Lamb Shank ($18.99). I thought the Roasted Beets ($5.00) were an included side, otherwise I wouldn't have ordered them. My friend got the Chicken Kabob ($14.99) which was delicious and what I would order if I ever went back. We both got the Homemade Dough ($2.75) to drink. Because we were eating here for the first time, we were given complementary Baklava and Shole Zard for dessert. Also available are kosher hotdogs, burgers, milkshakes and lots of other comfort food choices."
"Okay, let me start with the fact that the people who work here and own the business are amazing, kind, & incredibly polite to every customer. And my review has absolutely nothing to do with their customer service. I love these people, but that’s only one factor. I’m personally obsessed with Persian food especially since both of my parents are Persian and this is a pure honest review. The reason I’m giving this place a 2 start all has to do with their quality, taste, environment & definitely the price. So, I tried their Soltani, and the meet was super dry, the so called “barg” was not prepared properly at all and cold. It felt like a thin overcooked steak with no flavor. The Kabob was juicy, but again cold and too fatty. Not exactly how I like it. Well, let me be clear that I don’t usually walk into the restaurants expecting that much for the first time. But even with that being said, I was very disappointed. The amount of food given was not justified to the price we were charged. Meets were small. The environment is very fast foodi. It’s not welcoming or comforting. It’s very bold from the outside, I give them that. It’s not clear where to go and put your order in once you walk inside and who does that for you. It’s not clear if you have to clean your own table like many fast foods or again someone does that for you, although after putting in the order someone brought us our food for us at the table. It’s overall very confusing. I still don’t understand if this place is called Z burger, or Mamanjoon!!!!!!!! Come on. To all my fellow Americans, this is not a true Persian restaurant if a restaurant at all. It’s another version of “MD’s.” And to the owner, I wish you best of luck at this McLean location which has a lot of potential growing fast, but it’s very critical for you to solve these issues. As it’s standing now, I don’t see a lot of good reviews coming in. I’m only trying to help and make your place a favorite place to many like me who are seeking for a true local Persian taste. I will come back and will check out the other locations as well and hope this review can change soon because you guys are very nice and hard working."
"While passing by Maman Joon Kitchen, I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to give them a try. Maman Joon Kitchen shares its premises with Z Burger, and both eateries are owned by an Iranian family. Parking at the front is not available, and you need to park at the rear of the building. The interior of the restaurant can be a bit confusing as the fast-food and Persian kitchen sections are not well-defined. However, you can order from both cashiers. To gauge their quality of service and customer care, I usually start by ordering simple dishes during my first visit. For my takeout order, I went with chicken kabob over basmati rice and Ash Reshte (a Persian soup). It took around 20 minutes for my order to be ready, and the food was pretty much what I expected. The prices were reasonable, and the chicken kabob tasted good, but I still prefer the one from Alborz restaurant. The Ash reshte tasted fine, but I've had better from Marjan Carry Out. I plan to check out their fast-food options during my next visit and update my review accordingly."
"Yesterday for my iftaar I thought to have some wrap from this newly opened food place as it was near my workplace. I was highly disappointed by the way they packed my chicken wrap. I was driving back home for 1 hr and 30 minutes but the whole time I kept struggling to take it out of the box. I’m attaching the photos for showing their art of making a wrap. And it didn’t even have salt in it no sauce at all. And salad leaves were just popping out all around. Before collecting I checked with them if they added sauce in it and they said yes we added already. They’re newly open business so I give them 2 star just for that but I was highly disappointed with their serving for take out orders. It went to trash. A complete waste."
