"This place is right in my backyard so more I very much want it to succeed and want to come here often. Bottom line, I wanted to give a 3.5 because I thought the mushroom pizza was disappointing. The best mushroom pizza in the area is at manor hill tavern and this one doesn’t come close to it. The plain old pepperoni though, best I’ve had in awhile. Reminds me of Buffalo pizza. It’s great. I had to wait for them to make the blue cheese for my wings, was annoying but it was probably the best I’ve had. Could tell they put a little extra love in it to make it better. Wings were par for the course, but I’ll try their Buffalo next time and might update my review. The mushroom pizza needs improvement. More cheese and more truffle oil for a start, but I’ll let the chef decide. I’ll be back, make it better. Also, a little burn is ok, but half the crust totally charred is annoying. Beers are good so far, I enjoyed vanilla porter and sun run. Will try apps next time, but looked underwhelming."

"Really great place. The Hazy IPAs were really nice. Food was excellent. Recommend the Poutine and the black flag burger. The place fills up fast if you want a table so come early on the weekends, we waited 1.25 hrs for a table when arriving at 6pm. They could dim the lights some inside but the atmosphere is good otherwise."

"Amazing especially for a soft opening. Brandon was new to full table service and new to Black Flag (of course it’s their first night at this location). He was awesome and the food was on point. Brews were just as good. FINALLY an amazing local joint. I’d ask everyone to “stay away” as this gem is OURS. Haha. Well done also to management who wisely overstaffed for opening night. Never be penny wise and pound foolish. Hope they keep up over staffing for a bit until things settle out."

"Went to a soft opening and the food was amazing!! They didn't need a soft opening. We ordered a spread of different items but my favorite bite was the mushroom truffle pizza. I'm not usually a big truffle person and it can overwhelm quickly, but this was perfectly balanced and made me keep wanting more. Will definitely be back on the regular!"
