"Kayak launch and access to walking trail along the Potomac. Plenty of parking and a few picnic tables. Access by foot to the nearby neighborhood should be improved."
"It's a nice park. Well maintained but no trash cans provided to help keep the park clean. There are trash bags however. Access to the river is tricky and muddy as the only dock is privately owned and they charge $5 to use it"
"Fletcher’s Cove is one of my top 3 “nature” spots in Washington, D.C. and my favorite place to drop a kayak for the evening. Fletcher’s can be reached by the C&O Canal Towpath or via the road headed towards the Palisades. I stop here regularly as a cycling pitstop and just to enjoy a picnic table and quiet view. Some weekends can get crowded, as you can rent rowboats and kayaks from the area, and there are also lots of families who bring grills for cookouts. All in all, this stop is a not so secret, secret favorite to not feel like you’re in the city (while still very much being in the city)."
"I loved this place. Set my portable hammock in the shade and let the day pass by. Plenty of families enjoying the place but not too crowded. Watch out for the ducks and their dropping in the grass. Go for a walk in the trial then relax and unwind here."
"Beautiful park with trails and lovely views of the river. Lots of trash though, hopefully people are more careful to pack out what they pack in. Imagine how much cooler the park would be if folks didn't litter. Got some seriously lush greenery there, it's a shame it's dotted with cans and food wrappers."
