"This isn’t a holiday inn any longer. It is a homeless shelter for men. It’s called the times organization and it is a absolutely wonderful place to get your life in order. They provide you with resources to get you permanently off the streets and into a forever home. This is the Mayors innovative and it is absolutely working one little bit at a time. Thank you BALTIMORE CITY for showing that you care about your homeless population"
"STAY AWAY! ITS A SCAM!! They converted from a hotel to homeless shelter back in 2020. They are still advertising and you can make reservations. We booked them 5-8 months in advance and on our way to Baltimore for the Billy Joel/Stevie Nicks I called to confirm check in time and was told they are closed for renovations until next year. Their contract with the city to be a homeless shelter expires 2023. This hotel is closest to both the casino and stadium than any other hotel. We heard from other people at the concert that they were scammed also. The spill over during the is concert impacted nearby hotels. With one hotel taking advantage and charging 1500 a night. All other hotels were booked. We could not find any hotel (and I checked ALL of them) south and west of the city for 45 miles. So we and others were forced to head home afterwards. Some people were complaining they had to drive back to Pennsylvania that night. We spent the drive in stressed and scrambling to find something for hours with no luck. You can easily confirm this online. I got these details from a news article a few years ago. I don’t know how they are able to get away with it since 2000. I feel very sorry for the customer reps taking these calls. She sounded very annoyed and was very short with me. I had to pry to find out they were closed until next year. I don’t blame her."
"Do not book here, this hotel is incredibly sketchy. I booked a room for October 7th a few months ago and received a confirmation email October 4th stating that I was confirmed for that night. I was unaware that there were any issues with my reservation until we showed up to the hotel and a man with a gun standing outside the hotel told us that the hotel was seized by the government back in April 2020. The Holiday Inn website and third-party websites still allow you to book a room like nothing is wrong and corporate acts like they’re unaware of this issue. I’ve heard other conflicting stories: that they’re closed for renovations, that they’ve turned into a homeless shelter, emergency men’s center, etc. I’m not sure what the real story is but I would suggest booking at the Marriott at Camden Yards down the street."
"I showed up with my reservation, and I was met by a government official and said that the building was now government property!! I was never given any kind of notice, and my reservation went through.. my family and I was five hours away from home, and was visiting for a concert... with every hotel totally booked in the area!! What a freaking mess... do not book a room here!!"
"If I could give zero stars, I would. This place cancelled our room that we had booked 5 months in advanced, without any notification. No email. No call. Thankfully, we called to confirm our reservation a week prior to our trip and found out that they had cancelled it along with every other reservation at their hotel due to "renovations". Surely hope other guests were notified of this and aren't left scrambling like us. The woman who answered the phone was rude and clearly showed she didn't care at all about this situation. When asked to speak to a supervisor she said that they "didn't have one." That is abundantly clear to us now!!!!! Worst customer service ever."
