"Absolutely stunning interior with marble walls and staircase! Beautiful stained glass windows. The lobby is on the second floor, which doesn't make for a great welcome experience entering from street level. But the lobby itself is beautifully done with lots of high-backed lounge chairs and a cozy fireplace. I was upgraded to a suite and took advantage of the jacuzzi tub. Large tvs in the room and the bed was very comfortable. Not all the rooms have usb charging so that was a problem on my second stay. I expect more of a coffee and tea selection from higher end hotels....Hotel Monaco can do better in this dept. I expect this in the rooms. Robe and slippers in room would have also been nice. Overall a good comfortable stay."
"I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Monaco Baltimore, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked through the doors, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic stay. The standout feature of my visit was undoubtedly the impeccable service provided by the hotel staff. Kumar, Jamie, and Paul went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. Their attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and willingness to assist with any request truly made my time at Hotel Monaco memorable. The blend of modern amenities and classic charm added a unique touch to the overall ambiance. The central location of the hotel allowed for easy exploration of the vibrant city of Baltimore, and the stunning views from my room provided a delightful backdrop to my stay. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Kumar, Jamie, and Paul for their outstanding service and to the entire Hotel Monaco Baltimore team for creating an environment where guests feel valued and cared for. My stay exceeded all expectations, and I look forward to returning to this wonderful establishment in the future."
"While the hotel’s architecture was very nicely designed, the rooms still have an old feel to them. And I’m not sure if that’s why there are spiders all around them, but there were. My girlfriend and I got a room in the king suite and when we woke up the next morning, her arm was all red with spider bites. She was in pain and it was constantly bothering her. We called the hotel to ask what type of spider it could’ve been, not even being disrespectful to them or blaming them, and all we got from the hotel was the run around. They kept saying they would get back to us and never did. They even said we could receive a refund, but never did. I hope that if you’re reading this review, you reconsider staying here because obviously the hotel staff does not care about their guests enough to get back with them, let alone make sure they are okay. I already called a hotel inspector to get this place checked. I hope this review helps many of you looking for a place to stay in Baltimore."
"I love Kimpton hotels and have stayed at this location several times. As a fan of historical architecture, I love the building and especially the staircase inside, which has been meticulously restored and maintained. I'll preface this review with saying that the staff at the hotel were kind, professional, and accommodating as always. That said, during my most recent stay, I noticed a decline in cleanliness and functionality in the rooms. The room I was assigned did not have bedding for the bed, the fridge did not work, and the shower had hair ties and metal springs (??) left in it. I'm a bit of a clean freak and tried to overlook this, but the dirty shower got to me, so I asked the front desk for a different room after showing them photos. The front desk staff is SO nice and immediately offered me a free upgrade, which I would not have expected. Our second room was much nicer, had bedding and a working fridge - but unfortunately, the AC and thermostat didn't work. It was a fall heatwave in Baltimore and 85 out, and our room was almost 80 despite setting the AC to 67 overnight. I asked the front desk staff for an early checkout as a result, which they accepted, but informed me that they could not refund the additional night. The staff don't control the company's policies, and they were kind in informing me that I wouldn't be refunded, but we did still end up leaving. All in all, with a little maintenance, the hotel can be restored to its original quality. For now though, I would not recommend staying here, especially for the price. Ulysses is on my list for next time."
