"I was a patient here for several years, but service has gotten worse (appointments not on time). Dr. Cox has done a filling and a filling repair for me. Both times, he failed to numb my mouth correctly and I could feel him drilling. His bedside manner is...not great. The hygienists were also extremely unprofessional; if you have an issue with each other, keep it in the back. Petty behavior and badmouthing your coworkers to customers is embarrassing. We all have days where we want to complain about coworkers, but the behavior here was just plain inappropriate."

"I started as a new patient here six months ago after a friend shared a positive experience. Because this was my first appointment/cleaning, the office wanted to take X-rays which is something my previous dentist did yearly and is not uncommon. The problem is, apparently the X-rays were a type my insurance does not cover so naturally I received a bill a few weeks later. I called this office and my insurance to discover that the type they took is only covered every three years. Information I would have liked to have known about beforehand. Especially when I told them that I did not want any service not covered by insurance upon check-in. I pointed this out to the front desk after receiving the bill and in the end, paid it refusing to argue. Who would have known there is a difference in X-ray types if you are not in the dental industry? My second experience with this office was this morning. I showed up for a cleaning that was scheduled six months ago to be told that they don't have me on the schedule. I showed them the email confirmation I received a few days ago for the appointment, and they apologized offering to schedule me for later in the week. Simply unacceptable. I am beginning to think I just need to return to my previous dentist of 20 years that I stopped going to due to the driving distance. At least they could keep an appointment and always informed me of any out-of-pocket expenses before completing the work. I'm not one to take the time to write reviews however am a bit upset that I rearranged my day to make this appointment only to be turned away. The takeaway is to be sure to really do your homework on what is covered by your insurance and ask a lot of questions before the work is done. Secondly, when scheduling, be sure to call before leaving the house even if you have an email confirmation. Best of luck."

"My husband and I moved to Fredericksburg and were looking for a dentist. Husband needs sedation dentistry due to dental trauma experienced in childhood. Few dentist will do sedation dentistry but Dr. Cox will. So now we have been going to Dr. Cox for about 3 years. My husband has had many procedures and he is very pleased. I had only had teeth cleaning until……an emergency - a painful cracked tooth! Dr. Cox and team really came through for me. They got me in for a consult same day and next day scheduled the work. An implant was a possibility if the damages were too severe but fortunately that was not required. On the day of the procedure, Dr. Cox performed a root canal, prepped the tooth for a crown and installed a permanent crown. I walked out in two hours, problem solved! I am grateful and well pleased with this dentist office and Dr. Cox. Also, the office is clean, well run, and the staff is friendly. One improvement that is needed and I hope they are working on it, is getting the parking lot repaired/resurfaced - it’s hard to avoid the holes."

"My family has been going to Cox Family Dentistry and Orthodontics for over 15 years and never received anything but great care. Three of our kids had braces from here and all turned out great. We have had great service from a professional staff. Once I had a crown installed and the next day noticed a bit of a sharp edge in one area. I called and they fit me in immediately; smoothed it out and I never had another issue. Dr. Cox is a bit quiet until you get to know him; but then, I did't pick my dentist to entertain me. He has always taken the time to answer my questions and explain any necessary procedures. I recommend this office to anyone looking for a long-term dental relationship with someone you can trust."
