Walgreens Pharmacy

"My husband and I have had our prescriptions ordered to this Walgreens several times over the past 3 years and they always say that it is "x" amount for the prescription. I tell them that they are incorrect and that my insurance would cover it. And then they say that our birthdays are wrong in their system for our insurance so we have them "update it". Later, we come back to find it is still not correct and they are still attempting to charge us the wrong amount or give us coupons but the amount is still way to high and they are clearly not running our insurance properly. How does this happen on so many different occasions to different people? I have had friends in the area also have the EXACT same issue occur. I am not sure what their issue is, because I know for a fact that all my information with my insurance company is correct. I would never have a prescription sent here."

"Update: well over a year later, the situation is much better. Friendly staff and pretty fast service. Upgrading from one stars to four. --- Ungodly slow car service. If you see two cars in front of you, budget a half hour at least. This is not a one time issue - it's a persistent observation over six months of visits."

"DO NOT COME HERE FOR COVID TESTING! This is a poorly organized and inefficient site for covid testing, plagued by systemic failures, self-entitled employees and poor customer service. I usually go to CVS for Covid testing but decided to visit here, since it was closer to my house than CVS. Apr 23, 11:45am - Performed nasal swab and dropped off my specimen for testing. Had a good experience with the polite and young pharmacist. She placed the specimen bag and nasal swab in a container. Everyone ahead of the line was picking up the items from the container instead of picking up the entire container and then dropping off the specimen in the container after performing the nasal swab. I followed the same process. Apr 24, 11:15am - Received test results as INCONCLUSIVE. Specimen was rejected for testing because only one patient identifier was present. This indicates a paperwork failure on behalf of Walgreens - They did not associate full patient information with the specimen and so the lab didn't even perform the testing. No issues were identified with the specimen. However, both the lab and walgreens collected all the testing fees from the insurance despite an oversight issue from their side. Apr 25, 10:15 am - Was greeted by a middle aged lady who, let's just say was quite stuck in her ways. Issue # 1- She demanded that I remove my mask - "If you are wearing one of these, I cannot hear you and will not be able to help you." This is against the CDC guideline to remove masks if you are experiencing COVID symptoms, which I was. I had fever, dry cough, nasal congestion and headache when I visited the drive through testing location. Issue #2 - The pharmacist was adamant that I pick up the entire container and keep it in my car, else she threatened to not accept my test and trash the specimen. Legally, Walgreens has no right to enforce this rule on the customer. In fact, I'm doing my part to minimize exposure by trying to avoid contact with objects around me. As per the pharmacist, this is the protocol and Walgreens cleans the containers after each visit. Really? The container that I was provided was wet with yellow sticky stains. Black dirt particles and human hair were stuck to those slimy stains. CVS offers contactless experience, instead of reusable plastic containers. Putting the entire container in a car for testing is not a CDC protocol. This was a typical case of a frustrated stubborn middle aged woman who enjoyed policing others. When I called the manager, the pharmacist changed tack and said you don't have to take the container in your car if you don't want to. You can just collect the specimen bag and nasal swab from the container. Issue #3 - The manager asked me to redo the test under the instructions of the pharmacist because my previous test was inconclusive. Are you kidding me? The test was labeled as inconclusive due to paper work issue. There was no issue with the specimen. Also, why should I redo the test if the pharmacist chose to walk off from the window while I was doing the test? Also, Walgreens offers a service to dropoff specimen for at home PCR test in partnership with Binanx. Where is the protocol now that mandates testing must be performed under the supervision of the pharmacist? The people that work at this Walgreens branch need to change their attitude and not impose self-mandated protocols. It's highly inconvenient to customers. Next time, I'll take my business elsewhere."

"Just came to pick up a prescription that was put in a couple weeks ago. When I checked out the medication wasn’t even confirmed with me what I was picking up. So when they handed me the meds I didn’t check my bag until I got home. (I live next door) came back in probably 5 mins. Came to the counter and was told the prescription I wanted was cancelled. Okay that’s understandable. But the medication they gave I actually didn’t want and wasn’t going to get if they had made sure before checking me out. An older woman came and literally started giving me attitude because they cant take medication back once it leaves the building, again understandable. But then you tell me you’re not giving my money back either ? Even though YOUR employee didn’t even confirm what I was picking up? It’s just $10 bucks yea but now I have to come back and pay ANOTHER $10 for the correct medication. Either way I’ll be back to speak to the pharmacy manager."

"This Walgreens is horrible in the following: Customer Service Wait time Communication I’ve literally waited 10-15 minutes with no else in line to even be acknowledged. I’ve witnessed 4 people Behind the glass that won’t even say someone will be right you and when they do acknowledge you they’re no friendly at all. I’ve had to call out for someone to say anything. The wait time ties into the poor customer service. With no one else in Lin I’ve been in the store for 25 minutes. I will be changing my pharmacy back to CVS and just take the drive. It amounts up to the same time anyway."
