The Penn Stroud, Stroudsburg - Poconos, Ascend Hotel Collection

"We were in town for a birthday trip. The hotel was located perfectly for us to bounce around down town and enjoy ourselves. The staff was also super friendly. The room was spacious and very clean. We were all extremely happy happy with this hotel."

"Stayed here the weekend of August 25-27. I arrived to a clean room and free water available in multiple locations on the property. The staff (housekeeping, those working the daily breakfast and the front desk) were very friendly. Checkout was super easy. The location was also great for exploring, running and eating. My only critique is that the room still seemed to run cold, even when I blasted the heat up. To be fair, I didn't complain to the staff or give them an opportunity to fix."

"Clean, spacious, and conveniently located. I don't know why this place is supposedly a 2 star. It felt more like a 4. Parking is super easy, and the service was great. The continental breakfast area was clean, organized, and had plenty of options. Loved the history of the building reflected in the art on the walls throughout. Cons: It was pricier than I expected, and we had to pay in full when we booked. Walls are paper thin, but it's an old building, not sure much can be done about that."
