About the Business
Located in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, Murphy's Loft is a historic institution that has been serving the Pocono's for over 40 years. Originally known as The Log Cabin, this rustic mountain lodge was built in 1934 from native spruce and was a popular boarding house for hunters and outdoorsmen. In 1979, it was purchased by Ed Murphy and Bill Lauff and renamed Murphy's Loft. The establishment has since undergone renovations, including expanding the kitchen, adding an indoor deck for year-round dining, and creating an outdoor patio, bar, and pool for summer enjoyment.
In addition to its rich history, Murphy's Loft also offers lodging at the Fern Ridge Motel, which was built in 1946 using stones from the nearby ski slopes at Big Boulder. The institution is still owned and operated by the Lauff family, who pride themselves on tradition, community, and dependability. Whether you're looking for a cozy meal, a comfortable stay, or a fun night out, Murphy's Loft is the perfect destination in the Poconos.

"I had an absolutely delightful experience at I loft during my recent ski trip. The warm and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant made me feel right at home. From the moment I walked in, the owner or manager (I presume) extended a truly welcoming gesture, setting the tone for the evening. The bartender, equally friendly. A special mention to Alex, our server, whose warmth and hospitality made the dining experience exceptional. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to our evening. I highly recommend Murphy's loft for anyone looking for not just delicious food but also a welcoming ambiance and outstanding service. Thank you f or making my visit memorable!"
"When we visit, we always eat here. Love it there. Breakf and lunch is great. The quantity of the food is BIGG. U definitely pay for the food you get(left overs) love it. Peaceful here."
"Quaint little place in the Poconos near Pocono Raceway. Nice day and stopped in for a beer after doing some hiking. Didn’t order food so can’t comment on that this time around. Nice outdoor seating are and bar. Would definitely go back to hang outside."
"First time here. Parking can be a challenge due to the place being right on top of a busy road. Got the nachos for an appetizer. Stacked with all kinds of ingredients and definitely enough for two. For dinner we had the French dip sandwich and the Reuben Burger. Both were large portions and on point. Comes with your choice of sides and we got the sweet potato fries and the steak fries. Both were good and the steak fries were obviously homemade. Price to food value was great overall. Add in 3 beers and only came to $65. And they have a pool, which I look forward to seeing in operation at the outside bar on my return trip."
