"Plenty of parking and easy access to rail trail. Entrance to parking lot could be marked more clearly. Unlike some other rail trail parking spots, there was no large sign indicating it was a rail Trail parking, so it took a little investigating to confirm I was in the right area. Northbound it takes you through town. Southbound takes you to the Mason-Dixon line and woods. If you prefer shade and trees, take the trail South. There are some historical train cars displayed on the tracks."
"Incredible trail, well maintained. I loved the trains. I will be back to ride the rest of the trail."
"The trail gets really pretty here but there’s no shade when going through the town. You’ll see tons of old trains and you’re right near the highest point of the trail. If you head south, you’ll cross into Maryland in a little over a mile."
"Unlike most places on the Rail Trail this station is in the middle of the burrough. The old New Freedom station still stands and is both a museum and cafe. The Steam into History train ride building is located beside the trail."
"There's a nice large parking lot which was practically empty last weekend. There are a couple of sandwich and pizza shops right on the trail at this location however I haven't tried them yet. There is also the steam train museum which I also didn't have time to visit as well as a passenger train ride which is pulled by a GP9 locomotive. Hopefully next time. We rode north to Hanover Junction which is a nice leisurely ten mile ride. The trail is in pretty good shape (mostly crushed packed stone with some short asphalt sections) and rolls through the center of Glen Rock in case you want to stop for something more substantial than pizza or a sandwich."
