"Can't wait to visit Hampshire County! I'm a descendant of the Hampshire Edwards who's line migrated as "pioneers of the prarie" settling in current day Edwards, Illinois Peoria County. A farming and once coal mining area. Edwards opened the first store outside the family farm at (Edwards Station) in 1851 and was the railroad agent and postmaster. He also built a steam flour mill."

"Love this place! The museum is very enlightening. You get to see exactly how the people lived back then. Plenty of books so you can delve into the history of the area. There is a partial mockup of the fort and a garden. Nice place to visit and bring the family! β€"
