"It was a very nice place at one time, but the lake has been drained and is overgrown by weeds. There is a very nice pool, parking & picnic area, but it appears closed for the season. Fracking has destroyed the entrance, so hopefully, they will use some of their vast profits to foot the restoration bill."
"This is small camping area with just 5 clean cottages and few RV camp grounds. The place is clean with decent restrooms, laundry. However I felt there the camp areas are too close, if anyone wants a private area should ignore this camp area totally. There is a trail round the camp ground that might be near to a mile. The nice thing is there is a swimming pool with in a mile distance it is super clean surrended by lush green. It might be a new construction but adds a lot of value to the camping site."
"Driving around Ryerson State Park left me sad. Without the lake, and all the construction going on, the park feels anemic. The new pool tries hard with new water features, but still seems a little under done and the day use area somewhat small. The overhead roof and supports in the pool parking area look like turnpike toll booths as you approach from Bristoria Road. The large industrial plant near the broken dam doesn't help the drab atmosphere. So what's good? Well if you like a small campground, Ryerson has only 35 sites and 5 cabins. The McNay Ridge group camping area also seems nice. For a small park, Ryerson has 13 miles of trails making hiking a good activity here. There is a varied selection of winter activities at the park including sledding, tobogganing, cross country skiing and snow mobiling. Hunting is allowed in hunting season. "What a wonderful place to visit! The pool and splash pad are free! They have lifeguards as well. It was very clean and very well maintained. The park ranger was there checking things which was wonderful."
"Ryerson Station State Park is the hidden gem of Greene County. Due to the removal of the lake this park does not get as much traffic as it should. They are in the process of rebuilding the pool area, it will be fantastic when complete sometime in the second half of 2021."
