Bar-T Mountainside Summer Camp 2914 Roderick Road, Frederick, MD 21704

"I had such high expectations for this camp, but they seriously fell short. My son went the last week of camp and from the get go it was a mess. Maybe because they were wrapping up the summer? I didn't receive any updates or camp info until 8 pm the Sunday before which was a race to get my 6 year old son prepared for the following day. Then, he was placed in a different group than his one friend that he was signed up with. A real shock was that he got bullied and harrassed by an older boy on the bus with no counselors around to help. The last straw was that my son forgot his water bottle at camp on the last day. I emailed the camp immediately at 4 pm when he got off the bus asking if I could retrieve it. I didn't receive a response until 4 days later saying they had donated everything. At least give families a chance to grab items from the lost and found at the end of the session. What a shame that Bar T failed my family so much and we will not be returning."

"This was our first summer at Bar-T and my 10 year old son absolutely loved it! The staff were friendly and welcoming EVERY single day throughout the entire summer. My son had stories to share each evening about the fun activities he experienced during the day. He participated in both the regular and the specialty camps and had positives about both. I was a little nervous about the times for drop off and pick up as a full time working parent but my son's wonderful experience was worth the schedule adjustments. Again, the staff made this camp and they were fantastic!!!! I highly recommend!"

"First question my son asked on his last day after spending 8 weeks there: « can I go back next year? ». Everyone is so nice and committed to give the kids the best time of their life. They come home happy, tired and dirty which to me is a sign that they are enjoying themselves. If you want your kid to experience an awesome outdoor camp this is the place! They also have a lot of theme/specialty camps that are super exciting!"

"This is the second year my two sons have spent most of the summer at this beautiful camp BAR-T. This camp is like my childhood camp. There is a huge territory, mountains, a swimming pool (2 times a day), a Zipline, and much more. Wonderful staff, young responsible, and talented guys. But most importantly, my children always came home tired and very happy! They swam in the pool, played, found friends, and had fun! The next day they are hurried up to the camp again and again. My children really liked the art studio and the wonderful teachers there. Thank you so much for such a fantastic summer for my children. We will definitely be back again next year!"

"We've tried a few other summer camps before enrolling in Bar-T Mountainside -- and this is the only camp for us now! The camp is large on many acres and offers so many unique opportunities such as fishing, an on-site pool, a zipline, archery... the list goes on. My son was excited to go to camp every day - for the adventures he would have and to see his new camp friends and his camp counselors. We were signed up the week there was a dance/talent show that was held for the parents and it was just such an awesome thing to witness - all the kids were having the best time and the counselors are amazing. This past summer was such a wonderful experience and my son made so many memories. We're already looking forward to next year!"
